Week 6 Player of the Week Candidates

Here are the Player of the Week Candidates. While there were many deserving, we chose these four candidates. Voting will be on our twitter page @FNVictors

Devon Shaw, RB, Whiteford: With the Bobcats facing a challenge from the eighth-ranked Sand Creek Aggies on Friday, they turned to Shaw to carry the load. The junior turned in a breakout performance with 211 rushing yards and two touchdowns as the Bobcats upset the Aggies 28-6.

Tristin Panza, H-Back, Monroe: Things may not be so ideal for the Trojans from a win-loss standpoint, but they have found a young star in Panza. The sophomore was a difference maker for the Trojans, as he rang up 166 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns (three rushing, one receiving) in a 35-14 win over Ann Arbor Skyline.

Ravion Davis, QB, Flat Rock: After being bottled up by SMCC last week, the Rams’ senior QB broke out against Grosse Ile. Davis threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for 127 yards and two scores, including the go-ahead touchdown with less than 4 minutes left, in a 27-20 win over the Red Devils.

Anthony Greear, RB, Carlson: Greear only carried the ball eight times, but he rang up 137 yards and four touchdowns on those eight carries in a 60-15 rout of Trenton.

Others that were considered: Tristen Hines-Milan, Owen Sampson-Ida and Ian Stewart-Carlson

    2. SMCC(5-1) 68.000
    3. Riverview(5-1) 66.667
    4. Jefferson(4-2) 46.667
    5. Milan(3-3) 40.000
    6. Grosse Ile(2-4) 22.666
    7. Flat Rock(1-5) 14.667
    8. Airport(0-6) 0. Can’t have points if you haven’t won a game.
A few footnotes. You don’t see many 4 win Huron league teams with only 46.667 points. Jefferson has a low number because they haven’t beat a team with a high win total which gets you more bonus points.

    1. So Huron and Riverview just need one more game to be locked in for playoffs this year? Does SMCC qualify yet with 5 wins on an 8 game schedule or did they get a 9th game? Id love to see the Huron League superpowers go all the way. Cant believe Jefferson is only 2 games away too. CC might see them in the playoffs fo sho. I don’t usually get to see HL games but I might make that one

      1. Riverview needs 2 more wins to make the playoffs at 6-3. Huron would have to win out to get to 5-4 and hope they have enough playoff points to get in. SMCC qualifies with 5 wins because they play only 8 games. Jefferson would also need to win out to get to 5-4 and same as Huron, hope they have enough playoff points.

    2. Are we to the point where we have a BCS type format for JV football. How about a pat on the back and the opportunity to prepare for their chance to play varsity one day. A win is a win regardless of which team you beat.

  2. Beatrice Liburdi

Ravion Davis, QB, Flat Rock: After being bottled up by SMCC last week, the Rams’ senior QB broke out of a funk against Grosse Ile. Davis threw for 217 yards and two touchdowns, and also ran for 127 yards and two scores, including the go-ahead touchdown with less than 4 minutes left, in a 27-20 win over the Red Devils.
