  1. So a Jefferson coach watched game film and posted names of the Jet players on the field when the TD was scored. That's the best part!!

  2. OK we are talking about JV here. Yes you want your lower levels to succeed so the momentum keeps going at the higher level but other teams get bigger faster and stronger just as much as you do. Get over it all ready

  3. We all coach lots of lower level teams. We know our role in prepping kids for the next level. No slap in the face. Lots of pride when you watch them at the next level and see how good they do.

I have coached for several years.

  4. Huron Freshmen looked strong the past 2 weeks against Crestwood and Lincoln Park. They have their work cut out for the next 3 with Belleville, Dearborn and Fordson. It will be good to see if they can hang with the bigger schools.

  5. Freshman team and JV teams are levels to practice and work out the kinks for the ultimate goal. The Varsity. All schools distribute their kids differently throughout the 3 levels, if you have 3 levels. Its not apples to apples until your get to varsity. If your lifes existence depends on how good your JV doing, have fun with that.

By the way, DYL, FITZ, ADKINS, SOMETIMES JONES, and POTCOVA were in during the drive. Only main sophomore out was GOINS. I have it on film genius. Give it and your precious defense a rest. Good defense is fine, shutouts mean nothing, your not in the voting for a national championship.

I will no longer argue with you about JV.

  6. The funniest thing about all of this is I was joking about first string not being scored on! Huron scored on our first string defense. Hook, line, sinker!!! I forgot I even posted that earlier.

  7. It takes a special person to devote their time to JV football. Ask yourself if you would be willing to take time away from your families to develope these kids. When you rag on JV, that's a slap in the face to the coaches and what they do.

  8. J.V.is very important. Most important thing is that you have good coaches at the lower levels. Fundamentals are everything and finding coaches to do a good job running your offensive and defensive system are very important. Winning is great for the kids, but those things I mentioned above are much more important. Has nothing to do with varsity football at this point in time, but will in the future if the kids are being taught the right way

  9. I hate when people say JV is not important or that it has nothing to do with Varsity. It is very important and has a ton to do with how good the Varsity teams will be. Good JV teams DO MAKE GOOD VARSITY TEAMS. However JV records have very little to do with Varsity records 9-0 or 0-9. Over the years I have seen a lot of very good JV teams lose to lesser teams that were able to keep "their best players" because of talented Juniors/Seniors ahead of them on the varsity depth chart. Ive seen bad record JV teams end up in the playoffs on Varsity.

  10. My 4th grade sons Monroe First downers team hasn't given up a TD in 2 years. Oh, wait, I have to go, I think the Patriots are calling. Wish us luck. LOL.

  11. Sorry 9:11 and 9:13, that is not true. I was there with a roster in my hand. Know many kids on your team. Many first string were still on the field. Jefferson went into there 2 minute offense and did some passing. Moved the ball quickly down the field on you guys. We hadn't done that all game, think we caught you guys off guard, then finished with a 25 yard run.

I did actually see why you guys are pretty good at the JV level. You have left your very best sophomores down on JV, except for Bondy. The rest of us have sent our best soph's to the Varsity. 75% of Jeffersons starters were freshman, including the QB. You guys had 2 10th grade QB's. This was the same last year, more starting 10th graders than any of us. Obviously, experienced 10th graders will beat most of all of the freshman that the rest of us have playing.

    1. You sir are dead wrong! All backups were in at that point! And why would we send up sophomores to not get playing time? Varsity has 7 seniors, 17 juniors, and 2 sophomores! We have a good bunch of kids coming up rite now with great attitudes! And no matter what us crazy bloggers post!!! They are a TEAM!!!

  12. Why do people always have to preface Airport's second string gave up the only points for Airport? The team is the team. The team gave up 6 points. Who really cares, they won the game. I don't see the Jefferson people on here saying their 2nd string scored Jefferson's only points. Why? Because it doesn't matter. Airport is 3-0 on JV, we get it.

  13. Riverview over Milan 8-0. Hard fought game on both sides. Milan had ball inside the pirates 5 yard line twice in the 4th quarter and just couldn't get it done.
