Week 3 Player of the Week Poll

Week 3 Players of the Week

Christian Brown, RB, Bedford: Not even a two-hour lightning delay could stop Brown on Friday night. The senior exploded for 245 rushing yards and four touchdowns on 25 carries, and caught two passes for 76 yards and a score in the Mules 55-25 win over Ypsilanti.

Stoney Buell, LB/RB, Dundee: The Vikings turned in a masterful performance on defense in a 20-6 win over Hudson, and Buell was a reason why. The junior rang up 24 tackles and a sack from his MLB position, and he also rushed for two TDs from his RB position.

Tristen Hines, QB, Milan: Big time players make big time plays in big games, and Hines did just that in a 28-21 win over SMCC. The senior ran 25 times for 159 yards and two touchdowns, including the go-ahead touchdown in the fourth quarter. Hines also passed for 177 yards and two touchdowns, and made an impact on defense with four tackles plus the game-clinching interception.

Jimari Moultrie, RB, Riverview: Moultrie picked up right where he left off last week, as he rushed for 192 yards and two scores on 26 carries in a 24-6 win over Flat Rock. The Pirates are 3-0 for the first time since 2014.

Austin Myers, QB, Huron: Myers took charge in the Chiefs’ 28-7 win over Jefferson. The junior rushed for 171 yards and two touchdowns, and passed for 106 yards and a touchdown. The Chiefs have equaled their win total from last season.

Jacob Pac, RB, Airport: Pac was the difference maker in the Jets’ 40-20 win over Grosse Ile, as the Jets improved to 2-1 on the season. The tall bruising junior rushed for 126 yards and four touchdowns on 23 carries.

  1. Almost everyone on this post is wrong! 24 tackles by Buell from Dundee. I don’t watch Dundee but think about what that looks like on a football field to have one kid make 24 tackles. Most of the backs that you are voting for have around 24 carries… which means he is tackling them every time they get the ball haha. Defense wins championships boys!

    1. Except if you knew Stoney Buell from Dundee you would probably know that he nor his team care about individual awards even though I am sure they appreciate the recognition. No disrespect to FNV but it gets drilled in their heads almost daily about playing team football.

On a side note, what is it about every time Dundee plays Hudson, their linebacker ends up with a boatload of tackles. Didn’t they have a kid last year who had 20+ as well?
