Riverview @ Flat Rock

Riverview (1-5) is coming off of a 7-6 loss to Huron while Flat Rock (2-4) fell to Jefferson 35-14. Riverview won last season’s game 44-12 and lead the all-time series 36-5.

Riverview continues to play hard despite being young and suffering through an injury filled season. Senior Austin Boike has been solid all season for Coach Derek McLaughlin’s Pirate squad.

Flat Rock continues to battle and was in tied early in the 4th quarter with Jefferson before the wheels fell off. Sage Daniels , Jacob Dotson and Anthony Higginbotham continue to be bright spots for the Rams.

This is a huge game for the Rams. They still have a shot at the playoffs and a winning record if they can get by the Pirates. Once again another tough pick. I should go with the home team , but have a hunch the Pirates won’t go away quietly. Pick: Flat Rock 20 Riverview 16

Gary’s Pick: Flat Rock 28 Riverview 27

  1. Really confused why there is no mention of flat rocks #2. He has great plays on offense and defense. Had a great touchdown last night but still they talk about Daniels who did good for 2 games but hasn't had many good plays lately but still get a credit? #2 #77 for sure need props. Even #9 #53 #44

  2. The Bucs are going to have a break out game tonight they will pull off the upset tonight! This team is better than what the record shows. This team is not taking the Rams lightly and the Rams shouldn't take these Bucs lightly! It will be a great game.

  3. I'm going say it'll be a close game w/o a doubt, but I think Riverview will pull through. They're much better than their record shows.

  4. I don't think anyone from Flat Rock is expecting to dominate the game, nor are predictions being made for a blowout. The kids respect Riverview, and many FR/Riverview kids follow one another on Twitter. I think being called out by a one win team as a team that always falls apart, is what fires people up. Guessing it will be a good game, and hoping the Rams are ready to start a little run in front of a large homecoming crowd.

    1. Is Riverview any good this year? They sure dominated us last year, beating us 47-0. I have a feeling they will be contenders and playoff bound for years to come!

  5. Bucs can't take anyone lightly – all that's left are a handful
of healthy starters and banged up juniors and sophomores.
Flat Rock will be tough to contain in this one (glad to see
program improving) but Riverviews defense has improved throughout the year.
Bucs not looking to play spoiler but need
another one in the win column..

  6. i don't know how any 1-5 Team can "take someone lightly," even if the team is historically bad. The Bucs need to focus on themselves(correcting missing, not turning the ball over, making the correct fits on defense, etc). FR limits mistakes and squeaks out a win on Friday 21-16.

  7. I love the cockiness from a fan base that is 1-5 on the season. Rams are no longer a door matt
Rams win homecoming and sets up one of the most meaningful Flat Rock Huron rivalry game in a long time.

    1. Fall apart as they always do? You mean against teams like Milan, CC, and GI in back to back weeks? Last week was a 14-14 game with 7 minutes left, and FR appeared to stop Jefferson on 4th down around the 50 yard line, but couldn't get a measurement when asked. Jefferson went down and scored, making FR pass in a driving rain with 4 minutes left. After a three and out they punted, and looked to still have a chance but the Jefferson coaches went for it on 4th and 2, but #7 had possibly the best/toughest run I've ever seen in high school football to seal it. FR still has something to play for so please Bucs, take them lightly!
