We head to Eagle Drive for our next team in the Schedule Analysis series. This will be the final year for Erie Mason in the LCAA, as they will move to the Tri-County Conference next season. Will their schedule allow them to go out with a bang?
Aug 29 Summerfield
Sept 6 @ Britton-Deerfield
Sept 13 Hillsdale
Sept 20 Hudson
Sept 27 @ Ida
Oct 4 @ Columbia Central
Oct 11 Blissfield
Oct 18 Dundee
Oct 25 @ Onsted
Gut-check Game: Summerfield. The Eagles battled valiantly against the Bulldogs, before falling 41-34 in the opener last season. If Rob Beaudrie’s club wants to make any kind of statement this year, getting a win against a future conference foe not named Britton-Deerfield is a start.
Trap Game: No game really qualifies as a trap game when you go 1-8 and expectations are low on paper.
Snoozer: None. See above.
Non-con Challenge: Summerfield. See Gut-check Game.
Notable: Both non-conference opponents will will see plenty of the Eagles in years to come, as both reside in the TCC…The Eagles are the only team on the blog that does not face a new opponent
Thoughts from Frank: The Eagles will be looking to end a 22-game losing streak in the LCAA before their exodus. Hudson and Hillsdale were the only two LCAA schools that the Eagles were within 30 points of, which was a small step from the previous year where they didn’t keep within 30 of anyone. If the Eagles get any form of halfway decent line play, the step forward that many are hoping the team will take will happen.
