As was said in the video, many 5 win teams will make it in this year. That being the case, most of our 14 teams still have a shot at the playoffs. Let’s break it down.
Monroe High- Huge rival game this week vs Bedford. With a good Fordson looming, it would seem Monroe would need this one at home to get to 4-3. The easy 5th win would come at the hands of Dexter. If the Trojans were to lose tonight, they would be in a must win situation vs Fordson. Not really where you want to be. All hands on deck tonight on Herr Rd.
Temperance Bedford- A win tonight vs Monroe would get them in the playoffs with 6 wins. I believe Bedford is already in with 5 but the Mules are looking to get a couple home games come week 10-11.
Ida- At 5-1, Ida is looking great to make it in for the 5th straight year. Hudson may be the best team Ida plays all year however. Ida too is looking to secure some home games come playoff time. This game would go a long way in maybe 3 straight home games, which is huge.
Dundee- The vikings have to win out.. period. Which would mean tough wins vs BCC and Onsted. It can be done. Dundee has the makings of a playoff team. The Vikings need to get the oars all moving at the same time.
Carlson– At 6-0, the Marauders are in the post season. Week 8 is a huge matchup vs Wyandotte, who has given up 20 points all year. I see that as the only true contest going forward. Carlson should be D3 with Huron and Riverview. Great potential matchups.
Huron– An Obvious big game this week with Riverview. Winner has the inside track for the league crown. Huron has never won a Huron league title in football. I would think excitement is abound. The Chiefs will have to be at their best to beat View. Tons on the line.. title, home playoff games and respect.
Riverview– As mentioned above, Huron awaits. Battle for it all really. The Pirates are in the same boat as the Chiefs, win and things are looking up and up, lose and questions may start to arise. Riverview is the favorite here. Heck they may be the favorite to win a Regional title.
SMCC– Starting 1-3, the Falcons have to be happy at 3-3. They will be in for sure with 5 wins but 6 may get them a home game. Tough game tonight vs the Jets, who may just have to win out. Things will be bumpin tonight at Navarre Field. Both teams desperate for a W.
Airport– The Jets are reeling a bit after starting 3-1. This game is everything for Airport who sits at 3-3. I dont know if they get in with 5 wins. It will be close. They havent beaten a team with a current winning record all year. The only team(minus Jefferson) with that distinction. Did I say this game is the Jets season? Well it is.
Flat Rock– Maybe a little trap game here for the Rams. Big win last week vs Airport and a big one next week vs their rival, Huron. Little ole Jefferson at 0-6 is waiting in the wings tonight. Easy win? I dont think so. The Bears will be ready to go. Playoff wise, FR will be in with 5 wins for sure. Game 9 is against hapless AA Huron. At worst FR will be 5-4 and a 4th seed in a district on the road.
Milan– Milan needs to get healthy. Low on kids and off to the island they go. Funny things happen on the island. Milan needs this one, badly. Airport and Lincoln will not be easy wins. Lose this one and I think you can kiss the playoffs goodbye in Big Red land. Which doesnt happen all that often.
Thats that… great games tonight with some homecomings mixed in. Should be fun! Stay Dry!
Matt #44 for FNV Plater of the week!
These comments get dumber and dumber…
The Troll
It means every team in the league is down , way down in talent except flat rock.period
4:20 is a real "Ball of Joy".
Really sort of tired hearing about Milan’s injuries and down to 20 players, Yama, Tara, Tara.
Many seasons Flat Rock or Huron would start the year with only 19 or 20 and end up with 16 or so.
Stop the pour Milan stuff. Just stop …
Not quite sure what that says.
Really does it matter it's a down league play each other and win a playoff game and get beat outside of league . This smcc team has won 3 games nuff said
I should be able to make it out to the island tonight but not early enough to post a scouting report of the little guys balling on the north side of the stadium. Should be a good one!
Let’s go BUCS
Nice breakdowns. Would love more of this!! Great job guys. 👍
