Playoff Coverage

Look for thoughts and analysis from Chris and Gary tonight on the blog after the playoff pairings are announced.

Later this week, look for a video that discusses each of the games including thoughts on the opponents that region teams will face.

  1. Rowland Dad, thank you! I’m thinking we may all face that same weather on Friday! Good luck to you guys, beat Chelsea!! I Loved playing your team, always intimidated by the Big Red! What a fun senior year! I’m just sorry it’s my kids last year, hoping that you have little ones that keep you in the League!

  2. Julia, just watched that. Now that's football weather. Nice game winning kick in those elements. Good luck to you guys this weekend, represent the HL well.

    -Rowland Dad

  3. Chris I have seen every game and some practices this year. I didn't see anything different last Friday other than some more pass plays. What are we missing???

  4. Maybe Huron will bring the “Secret Weapon” that Chris mentioned last week, that someone must have forgot to bring with them!

  5. Jack Giarmo has never lost to Huron in his coaching career. It won’t start this Friday. Carlson gets a running clock by the third.

  6. Only game worth watching may be Wyandotte and Bedford in this area.
Good luck to all teams that are in the playoffs.
    SMCC/ Addison not sure
Huron/ Carlson- Carlson by 25 because Jack is kind
FR/Rouge- Rouge by 30, big boy football won’t be kind to Rams
    Milan/Chelsea – Chelsea by 14
Trenton/Riverview- closer than you may think View by 6?
Ida/Denby – who wants to be there at night?

  7. I’m a Riverview fan and to be honest – I’m rooting for ALL our Huron League teams! I’ve had the opportunity to be on the sidelines for every game this season and nearly each and every kid and team have been deserving of support and respect!
I agree that FR got a BRUTAL draw.
Back in week 3 when we played SMCC I spoke with the guys on the chains and they thought it was a rebuild year (I believe we dropped them to 0-3). They knew they’d be back just not this year. I’m glad we played them early on because they seemed like one of the hotter teams as the year went on.
Nothing but respect for all the kids, coaches and teams that made it! Good luck (unless you’re playing the Pirates!) and let’s show them that there is good football being played in the Huron League!
Nailed it, Coach Tom! Never enough to support your own team. We must do it (apparently) at someone else’s expense!

  8. Not saying all teams or leagues stink CoachTom, i just think the Downriver league is overrated like usual and will not win a single district title.

  9. also when coach Mac was at Southgate he had monster offensive lineman and huge runningbacks and some how he didn't win squat.

  10. Trenton will hang with Riverview, don't forget Coach Mac was at Southgate runningthat vaunted veer offence. They all learned to stop it.

  11. Talk about average at best? The DRL fits that quote perfectly. Wyandotte will be the only one that has the chance to go past week 10. If they make the playoffs, I think Milan and SMCC will be one and done for the HL. Carlson will be man handled regardless of who they face.

  12. This isn’t my first real experience and exposure to MHSAA football and I couldn’t be more excited! Thanks for the coverage and good luck to all our teams (unless your team plays mine!)

  13. Trenton shocks the world and proves the Huron league is average at best.
Huron and Milan take an early exit.

Flat rock wins then Falls to rouge.
