Carlson’s senior QB Joe Krolak and Flat Rock’s senior QB Graham Junge have been named the Friday Night Victors Co-Offensive Players of the Year.
Joe Krolak
Krolak led the Marauders to their 2nd straight 10-win season and their 5th consecutive Downriver League title before bowing out in the Regional.
The dual-threat signal caller had a magnificent season as he threw for 1,293 yards and 14 TD’s and rushed for another 1,273 yards and 18 TD’s.
Coach Jason Gendron on Krolak: Joe was our offensive catalyst this year, showcasing incredible production as a 1,000-yard passer and 1,000-yard rusher. His ability to excel as a dual-threat quarterback presented constant challenges for opposing defenses.
FNV on Krolak: Krolak was asked to do more for the Marauders after star RB Izaiah Wright missed much of the season with a nagging injury. Krolak didn’t disappoint and had arguably the best season ever for a Marauder QB.
Graham Junge
Junge capped a record-setting career with an outstanding senior season, leading the Rams to a 10-3 record and a second consecutive trip to the state semi-finals.
The two-sport star threw for 2,695 yards and 37 TD’s and rushed for another 284 yards and 6 TD’s and became one of the most prolific QB’s in state history after amassing 8,198 career passing yards and 92 TD’s
FNV on Junge: Watching Junge over the years has been a joy. He didn’t always have the strongest arm or the fastest feet in the stadium, but he was always the smartest player and seemed to always have the will to prepare for his opponents. Easily the best overall QB in Monroe County history.
Joseph Krolak is my grandson! He has always been kind and understanding to his family and his peers. Playing baseball and football he has always gave it his best. To family he shows his love. Leaving behind a great athletic record. He always had a strong camaraderie with his teammates and friends. He is proud to be a Carlson Marauder!
