  1. I cannot believe some of the Flat Rock comments. Flat Rock has turned themselves into a league contender and have made semifinals 2 years in a row. Eventually you’re gonna face a tougher/better team. NDP is very good!! Nothing to hang the heads about. Before Buck Reume became coach Flat Rock was darn near always last in the HL for a very long time. Now they’re competing at a high level. Congratulations on a great season!

      1. You can’t win with some people, either FR schedule is to easy and then when they lose you hear about what’s wrong with FR? Did they pass to much? LOL.

Lets say we flipped the games around and SMCC played NDP to give some perspective on how good NDP is, NDP would be 80% favorites to win over SMCC and win by 15-20 points according Cal Preps. That’s how good NDP is. And FR would be predicted to lose by one point to schoolcraft which is essentially a coin toss and we all know how FR has responded to coin toss games don’t we Frank!

FR is Semi Final Good in Division 5. NDP is State Finals good in D5 & possibly will be crowned the State Champs.

FR lost 3 games, two of the games were to possible state champions and one loss in last 10 seconds against a D3 team that has historically dominated the Huron league for a number of years now.

Its been 3 great years in a row for FR football. Credit coaching staff and players for digging in and accomplishing back to back final four seasons.

I don’t think the naysayers understand how hard that is to go to Final Four 2 years in a row. FR Football hosted 8 playoff games over past 3 years and had never hosted a playoff game in the history of the school until that point. Now they are back to back Final Fours.

Good Job FR Football! You have done some things that no other FR teams have ever done and will be remembered for a very long time for it!

You were fun to watch. Thanks for the memories!

  2. I hate when people say “they finally played a decent team” but if they were “decent” they would not be favored to win the state chip and they would beat anyone flat rock played

  3. I wish Riverview could get over the hump… they lose to Rouge, then get spared from getting destroyed by King… but Flat Rock losing back to back years to the State champ is somehow something bad….

    1. They could if they didn’t have so many injuries. From FR on they were plagued with injuries to key players and without their best player. They were missing half the secondary against rouge and a key linemen was playing hurt. Had they had the team they began the season with, they probably lose 35-21. Losing an all state corner/rb combined with everybody else destroyed any hopes of anything in the playoffs in D3. Depth is the weakness. The team from game 5 on, just wasn’t the same team.

      1. Injuries is part of football it happens Flat Rock lost its leading rusher top linebacker and half of secondary going into the playoffs.

        1. Ultimately it didn’t matter anyhow besides league play. King could be the best team in the state regardless of division. Didn’t see us getting by that with or without everybody. The city of Detroit is the farm system for that team. It’s tough seeing a scenario where that’s ever beatable. It would be as if every good player downriver all played for one team in the area and even that would be lucky to have one D1 recruit and I’m not talking about Rouge. King has over a dozen D1 players.

    2. The team FR lost to last year did not win states and PNDP will have their hands full with Frankenmuth this year. Congrats to FR for two great years in a row.

      1. I think they might have been a little better than decent.
You take the path laid out four you, you can’t whine about it. It is what it is. It’s like Flat Rocks basketball district having Summit in it…that’s life can’t whine about it or feel sorry for yourself.
Let’s go CC Win that State Championship!!!

    1. They had to pass… Couldn’t run against that team.

      They were that good.
Rushing game 24 carries for 71 yards
Pass game 22/34 for 227 yards

I think FR actually played very well. Prep is a great team.

  4. Flat Rock gets blown out again in the Regional Finals. Great year nonetheless. I just wish they could get over the hump
