The Summerfield Bulldogs secured a convincing 34-12 victory over West Unity Hilltop, fueled by a dominant ground game and stingy defense.
Summerfield’s Mitchell Gomulinski stole the show, rushing for 255 yards on 28 carries with four touchdowns. He scored on runs of 5, 17, 8, and 2 yards, with kicker Cribbs converting all four extra-point attempts.
Quarterback Reece Kalb complemented Gomulinski’s efforts with an 85-yard touchdown pass to Tyler Dafoe in the air. The try failed, but the Bulldogs’ offense had already done enough damage.
Defensively, Summerfield shone with three interceptions, courtesy of Eli VanHuysen, Jude Flowers, and Gabe Ostrosky. VanHuysen also recorded 10 tackles and a pass breakup, while Brenden Myshock notched a sack and four quarterback hurries.
The Bulldogs’ victory was built on a strong team performance, with 296 total rushing yards and 156 passing yards. Summerfield’s defense held Hilltop to just 12 points, securing a well-deserved win.
The Bulldogs improve to 3-1, while West Unity Hilltop falls to 3-2. Summerfield looks to continue their momentum as they travel to Whiteford to play their rival Bobcats in week 5.
