Point being after the CC game, the toughest part of Huron's schedule was done and they were 2-2. Except for Milan, they were favored to win the remaining games. So what did they do? They layed an egg against Flat Rock and got blown out by Riverview and Grosse Ile, who were not exactly world beaters last year.
What was all the other teams excuse for losing more to CC? Lack of size or talent? Huron did lack the mental toughness but thats one thing they need to work on.. Now like i said, what was every other teams exucse to losing to CC now? =]

Yet the same athletes showed great mental toughness by winning every close game over the last two seasons in basketball.
And if I remember correctly, Huron tanked the rest of the season after losing the heartbreaker to SMCC. That is lack of mental toughness, something Huron is known for.

I only suggest things as a way to maybe better things. I can see your point however and it does make sense.

Practice has to start first don't you think? Gotta give me some scoop time to figure out what is going on with the teams. I've got to attend some practices, make some phone calls and see them live against an opponent (scrimmage).
Last year I took about a week to do the previews. Basically it was once a day. I also had 41 post in August of last year.
I am changing things up this year but they are moving slowly. I promise I will have my previews but they won't be until after the scrimmages. Be patient brother this is my second year at this.
Should have done a team preview every 3-4 days. More interest, more hits, more sponsorship, more money.
Waiting to do it all at once doesnt seem to be the most effective way for all interests.

PS… anonymous, a lot of people care about JV not just including parents (look at last seasons threads). But not as many as Varsity so that is why a specific area would be great.
If I also remember correctly, Huron was the ONLY team to lose to CC by less than a TD. food for thought 😉

To put giving up 30 points a game into perspective. There is a team in the HL that has given up 30 points a game only ONCE since 1950. Giving up 30 a game is pretty damn hard.
Well I'll ask the question everyone hates…. How do the JV teams look this year…. Just kidding (unless you actually have info)
HLF… can we get a section for JV this year? It would be a way to keep the convo's easier to follow and out of the Varsity threads so we dont have to read the "who cares about JV" posts etc….
No Friday night lights for Airport this year. Here's the home schedule: Friday Sept 3 vs Flat Rock at 5pm, Friday Sept 10 vs Huron at 5pm, Saturday Sept 25 vs Jefferson at 1pm, and Saturday Oct 9 vs SMCC at 1pm. EM

Ya cuz there defense was so good last year. They gave up 30 points a game…. I bet they give up less this year…. we shall see.

Who are the best returning punters, kickoff and place kickers in the league? I'll start with this…include some up and coming JV guys, too.

have you heard any replacements for weclowski at linebacker?
They have some lineman back and a good running back. They will certainly miss Weclowski.
I do think though that this could be the best team that Kalbfleisch has had since he has been there. Just a hunch.
