The Riverview Pirates sailed to a convincing 36-7 win over the Airport Jets, led by standout performances from Nathan Pinkava and Ian Adams. Pinkava rushed for 146 yards on just 7 carries, scoring 3 touchdowns from 48, 59, and 66 yards out. Adams added 77 yards and a rushing TD, plus a 46-yard fumble recovery for a defensive score.
Airport’s Jordan Fields scored a late 3-yard TD, but it was too little, too late. The Pirates outgained the Jets 324-137, showcasing their dominant offense.
Dillon Byrd got his first start at QB for Airport and was 11-19 for 90 yards. Airport Head Coach Derek Anderson said, “we had some opportunities and made some mental mistakes that we need to clean up. We have another tough challenge next week and the intensity at practice needs to be better”.
Riverview (2-0) looks to continue their winning streak next week as they host 0-2 Jefferson. Meanwhile, Airport (0-2) faces a tough test against 2-0 Flat Rock.
