The Erie Mason Eagles suffered a tough loss on Friday, falling to the Advanced Tech Lakers 54-26. The Lakers’ physicality and strength in the trenches proved to be too much for the Eagles.
“ATA was bigger, stronger, and more physical than us, and it showed in the trenches,” Mason coach Steve Bowers said.
Despite the loss, the Eagles had some standout performances. Logan Goodin had a impressive game, rushing for 142 yards on 21 carries and scoring two touchdowns. Quarterback Bowie Jacobs threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns, while Phoenix Stefko hauled in four receptions for 159 yards.
Brody Koehl also made a notable contribution, catching his first career touchdown pass. Landen Nastale showed promise in his return from injury, providing a spark for the Eagles.
The Lakers’ offense was led by Cobey Cureton and Christian Calloway, who each scored two touchdowns. The Crosby brothers, Marcale and Mylan, also added a score each.
The loss drops Erie Mason to 1-4 on the season. They will look to bounce back next week when they travel to face 2-3 Whiteford.
Advanced Tech improves to 3-2 on the season and will head to Flint next week to take on Flint Southwestern.
