The Hope and Concern series rolls into Petersburg to look at Summerfield.
Biggest Reason for Hope: Senior QB and Skill Players. Year Two of “Fear The Veer” should take another step forward for Dylan Szegedi and company, as he will have a senior QB (Trace Secor), two senior RBs (Hayden Noland and Mitch Gomulinski), and a senior receiver (Tyler Dafoe). Noland is also excellent on the defensive side of the ball too, and has been mentioned as a preseason all-stater at defensive back.
Biggest Reason for Concern: Strength of Schedule. I’ve alluded to this in my Schedule Analysis Series more than once in the past, but the Dawgs will need a lot of their opposition to get some wins to get valuable playoff points. Though this season’s schedule appears stronger on paper, we all know that games aren’t played on paper. Will five wins be enough to get the Dawgs back in the playoffs, when the last three seasons with just five wins has kept them out in the cold?
