Riverview Pirates: Hope and Concern 2024

Next up in our series is the pride of the Huron League since 2020, the Riverview Pirates.

Reason for Hope: The Pirates return a very talented group of seniors that includes Ian Adams, Nathan Pinkava, Garrett Timmerman, Lucas Thompson and Christopher Sarnacki. Adams and Pinkava teamed up last season in the backfield to combine for over 2,800 rushing yards and 37 TD’s. Timmerman is a monster that will anchor the Buc’s offensive line.

Reason for Concern: The Pirates must find a way to replace the great senior leadership and talent of captains Gavin Labadie and Max Lockhart. Those two were character guys who truly represented the type of player that Coach Derek McLaughlin has built his program around.
