The Riverview Pirates kicked off their season with a 38-0 victory over the Detroit Renaissance Phoenix. Ian Adams and Nathan Pinkava stole the show, leading their team to a crushing win ¹.
Adams carried the ball just four times but made the most of his opportunities, racking up 136 yards and two touchdowns. His impressive runs of 64 and 63 yards left the Phoenix defense struggling to keep up. Pinkava also had a standout game, with six carries for 101 yards and two scores. His runs of 49 and 24 yards showcased his speed and agility.
The Pirates’ offense was unstoppable, finishing the game with 365 yards. Quarterback Lucas Thompson had a near-perfect game, completing both of his passes for 51 yards. On the other hand, the Phoenix struggled to gain momentum, managing only 133 yards.
This win propels the Pirates to 1-0 on the season, and they’ll look to continue their winning streak when they host the 0-1 Carleton Airport next week. The Phoenix, now 0-1, will face Detroit Southeastern in their next game.
