Each year Friday Night Victors chooses a Player of the Year for offense and defense along with an overall Player of the Year. We also have our All Blog teams. Those will all be coming out this week. As always, let’s celebrate those who were chosen and considered for all of the 2023 awards.
Ottawa Lake Whiteford’s Jake Iott has been named the 2023 Friday Night Victors Defensive Player of the Year. The 6’2″, 190 lb senior Linebacker led the Bobcats to the State Championship game where they fell to Ubly.
The 3.9 GPA student finished the season with 162 tackles; which included 4 TFL’s, 5 sacks, 3 forced fumbles, 2 fumble recoveries and an interception for a TD. He is the single season and career tackling leader in Whiteford history.
Coach’s Thought: “Jake is a tremendous tackler and is all over the field on defense. He has led the team in tackles every year since his freshman year”.
FNV Thoughts: Jake could play and star for any team we cover. He is a great high school football player.
