Playoff Preview Churchill @ Carlson

Livonia Churchill enters the playoffs with a 4-5 record after surviving the rugged KLAA East Division while Carlson was the champions of the Downriver League after finishing undefeated in league play and 8-1 overall.

Notable: The Chargers have made the playoffs 13 of the last 15 years and went 10-1 in 2012.

Carlson

Carlson Playoff Record: 4-15

Record vs. 2023 Playoff teams: 3-1 (L 31-10 vs Airport, W 43-7 vs Anderson, W 28-23 vs Trenton, W 20-18 vs Allen Park

Players to Watch: Joe Krolak QB, Izaiah Wright RB, Landon Vida WR, Teegan Nagy, Noah Derwick, Jackson Zachary, Chase Towns DT

Notable: Wright is one of the fastest sophomores in the state. Last track season as a freshman, he ran 10.83.

Overview: This is an intriguing match up. On paper the Marauders appear to have the better team. Strength of schedule would go to Churchill while Carlson has the much better record. This should be a close game, but could get out of hand if the Chargers don’t contain the speedy Wright.
