Each week, I will go through the box scores of all of our teams and pick four players whom I will turn to you, the people, to determine our Player of the Week. Go over to our twitter page to vote: @FNVictors
There are a lot of choices in a given week, so narrowing them down to four is a challenge in itself. If you have anyone in particular to nominate, hit me up on Twitter (that will actually help me out more, as my Friday nights are busy with officiating).
You can then vote in our Twitter poll to determine the final outcome.
Without further ado…
Graham Junge, QB, Flat Rock: It was a vintage performance for Junge in a 33-21 win over Airport. The junior completed 28 of 38 passes for 350 yards and four touchdowns in the battle for “The Jug.”
Matthew Pizzo, RB/WR/LB, Grosse Ile: Despite not being at 100% due to lingering injuries, Pizzo still turned in an incredible performance on both sides of the ball for the Red Devils. He ran for 81 yards and two touchdowns, caught six passes for 84 yards, made 24 tackles, and snagged an interception as Grosse Ile prevailed in overtime 21-20 over SMCC.
Trace Secor, QB, Summerfield: We had said that Summerfield was going to be a team that made hay running the football, but they can still get the job done through the air. Secor went 11-for-14 for 150 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for 35 yards and a score in the Bulldogs 27-2 win over Springport.
Jake Iott, RB/LB, Whiteford: Iott ran for 89 yards and a touchdown, but also turned the game around with a fumble return for a score in the fourth quarter as Whiteford knocked off a ranked Ottawa Hills team 26-21. For the record, Iott also turned in the performance on his birthday
Honorable Mention: Billy Gaskell, QB, Milan; Ian Adams, RB, Riverview; Caleb DiBrano, RB, Riverview; Izaiah Wright, RB, Carlson; Adam Szalay, WR, Flat Rock, Luke Beaudrie, QB, Jefferson; Gavin Albring, RB, Ida; Tyler Dafoe, WR, Summerfield; Austin O’Dell, RB, Huron
BONUS: I have to give a shout out to Whiteford assistant coach Jason Vida for being an awesome shuttle bus driver to the wedding I attended in McComb, Ohio on Saturday

Frank, what paper do you find tackle stats in?
I had someone from Grosse Ile reach out to me via Twitter (or X).
Love to see a video montage of those 20+ tackles. Some of these schools are full of you know what with the #'s they put up for tackles each year. I've seen a couple schools, year after year saying they have 2-3 kids with 100+, c'mon. Now 24 tackles in one game, I have to see it.
I watched the whole Grosse Ile Smcc game and Pizzo had a minimum of 20 tackles. He was the reason they won the game on offense and defense. Great athlete on both sides of the ball.
