Hope and Concern: Ida Blue Streaks

By Frank Vajcner

We continue the Hope and Concern series with Ida.

Biggest Reason for Hope: Experienced Offensive Line. How many times have we seen an Ida team with an experienced offensive line? For the most part, good things usually happen for the Streaks with experience in the trenches. This year, all five starters will return, and only one of which is a senior.

Biggest Reason for Concern: Young Skill Players. The Streaks were gutted at the skill positions by graduation, and they return little production. Although Dean Thomas showed flashes at running back late in the season, outside of him, nearly everyone else has no to very little experience. How will the young Streaks perform when the bright lights are on?
