Hope and Concern: Erie Mason Eagles

Our series continues with the Eagles of Erie Mason.

Biggest Reason for Hope: Look no further than the tandem of QB Vaughn Brown and WR Korbin Herrera. A prolific combo, who linked up 9 times for scores in 2022. Vaughn set the single-game county record with 8 TD’s in a game… he did this in the 1st half alone. On the defensive side, DL Cole Kreger returns off a 2022 season in which he recorded 109.5 tackles and 6.5 sacks. This trio gives the Mason faithful a reason for optimism in 2023.

Biggest Reason for Concern: The departure of All-FNV LB Louden Murdach could profoundly affect the Eagles’ defense. You simply can’t replace a guy who averaged nearly 14 tackles per game. One needs to look no further than the Napoleon game when Murdach went out early in the game with a broken collar bone.
