First-Round Playoff Performers

By Frank Vajcner

As we are now in the postseason, this is where we shift gears in terms of recognition for top players.

Rather than voting for one player, we like to recognize multiple players for big-time performances in big-time games. If you have anyone in particular to give a shoutout to, hit me up on Twitter.

Without further ado…

Graham Junge, QB, Flat Rock: In the first-ever home playoff game for the Rams, Junge went 15-for-22 for 208 yards and three touchdowns in a 27-22 win over Dundee.

Whiteford Offensive Line: The Bobcats’ line, comprised of Kyle Gray (center), Brayden Luse and Shane Suchora (guards), Jack Iott and Owen Knaggs (tackles), and Kolby Masserant and Ryin Ruddy (tight ends) paved the way for 463 rushing yards on 53 attempts in a 64-22 win over Addison.

Omari Carter, RB, Carlson: The Marauders turned to Carter against New Boston Huron, and he delivered a 32-carry, 179 rushing yard, three touchdown performance as Carlson defeated the Chiefs 38-14.

Evan Marcon, RB, SMCC: Marcon turned in a big performance for the Falcons, as he rushed for 193 yards and three scores on 19 carries as SMCC defeated Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 41-0.

Trey Brueggemann, RB, Bedford: Brueggeman continued to be a workhorse for the Mules, as he carried the ball 32 times for 245 yards and two scores as Bedford outlasted Farmington 41-28

  • My vote is Omari Carter. What a great running back
I didn’t see him run last year.
    Was he on JV.

  • How about the FR receiving corp
They blocked well on the edge and didn’t drop a pass.
Honorable mention to #10 from Dundee who was all over the field

  • Chris Frank
    Carlson number 44.
    Big, fast knows the game
I know he not on the list.
    What do you think.

    • Huge force for Carlson every week. Unfortunately, he is not a big "stat guy" so if these guys weren't at the game he wont stand out in the box scores.

  • Ok. 5 weeks ago Chris tried to tell everybody that Junge was a Legit QB.
Everyone sad Flatrock wasn’t that good.
Put that is your pipe and smoke it.
Look like after the SMCC game they changed there offense.
That’s great coaching and team work
And no coached kids on the team.
