Each week, I will go through the box scores of all of our teams and pick four players whom I will turn to you, the people, to determine our Player of the Week.
There are a lot of choices in a given week, so narrowing them down to four is a challenge in itself. If you have anyone in particular to nominate, hit me up on Twitter. That will actually help me out, as my Friday nights are busy with officiating.
You can then vote in our Twitter poll @FNVictors to determine the final outcome.
Graham Junge, QB, Flat Rock: The sophomore went 14-for-18 for 240 yards and three scores as Flat Rock defeated Milan 55-21. It was the Rams’ first win over the Big Reds since 2011.
Brayden Ratliff, K, Dundee: With the offense shorthanded and struggling, the Vikings relied on their kicker. Ratliff, better known as “Big Homie,” came up big with field goals of 34, 20, and 38 yards. The latter would be the game-winner with eight seconds left as the Vikings escaped Columbia Central 9-7 to reach 5-0 for the first time since 1992.
New Boston Huron Chiefs Defense: The Chiefs’ defense took their game to another level, as they forced seven turnovers and recorded nine sacks in a 48-6 dismantling of Airport.
Trey Brueggeman, RB, Bedford: The senior followed up a strong performance last week with 166 rushing yards and a touchdown on 19 carries, as Bedford outlasted Ypsilanti Lincoln 36-28.
Honorable Mention: Hunter DeBarr, RB/DB, Whiteford; Brian Booms, RB, Flat Rock; Aaron Salazar, WR, Flat Rock; Trent Herrera, WR, Erie Mason; Jacob Shank, RB, Riverview; Rory Callahan, TE/DE, Huron; Gavin Moczydlosky, QB, Huron; Dean Thomas, RB, Ida; Carlson Offensive Line
