The Trojans are under new leadership in veteran Head Coach Dave Mifsud. Coach Mifsud spent 25 seasons with Dearborn and Parma Western prior to taking over the Helm in Monroe. We last saw Monroe in a losing effort to Riverview in a great contest, finishing with a record of 4-5. Assistant coaches in year one of Mifsud are Jack Giarmo, Rob Hogg, Kyle Reed, Alex Russo, Jody McCollum, Patrick Ludlow, Drake Minton, Darryl Mossburg, Steph Pietzak, Chris Clark.

Coaches Thoughts: “It’s a process. It’s an exciting time. Our players have been working very hard. We are installing a completely new offense and new defensive system. They are buying in and working hard and doing well. We are making progress everyday. We are really excited to scrimmage against teams other than our own teammates, and the first game is right around the corner so we are going to have to be ready really quickly. We have some experienced, talented players and several guys who will be in a varsity lineup for the first time in their careers. It should be fun and we are excited to compete.”
FNV Outlook: It’s never easy in year one of a new system on both sides of the ball. However, Monroe has a very experienced coaching staff, which will aid in the implementation and installation. The Trojans catch a little break as the first part of the schedule looks to have some very winnable games. With that said, games 4 though 9 are about as tough as it gets. Monroe will do very well for itself if they can navigate their way through the gauntlet of Saline, Huron, Bedford, Dexter, Riverview and find themselves playing in week 10. Obviously this is no easy task but the Trojans have the players and the staff to get the job done.
Coach Mifsud sees Dexter, Saline and AA Huron as the top teams in the SEC RED.

You guys should make it more than 4 posts per page. Harder to go back to older posts;; just a thought
Not a bad idea and I've thought the same. But all you have to do is click on the number 2.
Not if I have to got to post 9 which I have to click twice and wait for it to load twice especially when there is a blitzkrieg in posts and the post is from 4 days ago @GaryHauf
First complaint we've ever had regarding posts per page. Well, second I guess. They were both from you. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for reading though.
That’s one hell of a coaching staff-Jack Giarmo, Rob Hogg, and Daryl Mossberg. Those 3 could be head coaches almost anywhere.
I agree. I hope these kids realize the quality of coaches they got!
