Here are the nominees for the Michigan High School Football Week 8 games for teams covered by Friday Night Victors. Please vote @FNVictors on Twitter.
Owen Sampson, RB, Ida. Sampson has continued to take his game to another level the last few weeks. In Ida’s 46-20 win over Blissfield, the senior rushed for a school-record 333 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries.
Tayshaun Nichols, RB, Monroe. Nichols carried the ball just 8 times and found the endzone 3 times in Friday night’s 56-7 Trojan victory. Nichols ended up with 123 yards on the night for the 4-4 Trojans.
Cody Britt, RB/LB, Carlson. There’s an adage that big-time players make big-time plays in big-time games. Britt did just that, as he rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 34 carries to carry the Marauders to a 35-28 win over White Lake Lakeland. Fun fact: all of Britt’s touchdowns came from a yard out. And for the record, he also had seven tackles from his linebacker position on defense.
Brendan Hammer, QB, Bedford. “Fear the veer” is a common saying around the Bedford Football program. After the Mules’ 62-28 dismantling of Ann Arbor Skyline, opponents may have to respect Hammer’s ability to throw the ball. The senior threw for 257 yards and four touchdown passes in the victory.

I don't have a Twitter account, but if I did, I would vote for Sampson from Ida. He definitely had a player of the week performance, and has a strong case for POY.
