Allen Park Jaguars @ New Boston Huron Chiefs

The Allen Park Jaguars (5-2) finished the regular season at 4-2 with their lone on-the-field loss coming at the hands of Downriver rival Woodhaven in week 2. The other loss, was a forfeit in week 4 to Ecorse. Huron (6-1) finished with a 5-1 regular season effort. The lone loss was to Milan in week 4. Allen Park defeated Trenton 18-7 in week 1 of the playoffs while Huron beat Southgate Anderson 42-14 . This is only the second meeting all-time between these two schools. The Jags beat the Chiefs back in the 2016 playoffs by a score of 31-12.

Issac Smith

Huron Chiefs

Huron is coached by Chad Smith, who is in his 3rd season (12-13) at the helm. Huron averages 30 ppg and has a dynamic offense led by junior Issac Smith (WR/QB). Chase Molnar plays QB for the Chiefs and is a dual-threat option after replacing senior QB Austin Myers who went down with an injury in week 3. Rumor is, that Myers will be available for Friday’s game. Rugged Tycen Stevens (RB/LB) is the featured back and runs behind a solid offensive line that includes; Ethan Webb (OT), Zack Taylor (C)and Josh Buettner (G). On defense, Caden Galinis (DT), Tyler Short (DT) and Rory Callahan (DE) anchor a solid defensive line. Speedster Matthew Williams (DB) is excellent in the secondary and when teamed with Smith are game-changers on special teams.

Ethan Baugh

Allen Park

Tom Danosky (49-15) is in his 6th season as the Head Coach of Allen Park. The tradition-rich Jags have qualified for the playoffs 28 out of the last 34 years. Once again, defense is the calling card of the Jags. Senior Max Alvarez leads a solid defense that includes Braden Albright, Brendan Flinn, Colton Caswell and David Cagle. Allen park gives up a paltry 8.33 ppg. On offense, you could see both Ethan Gajewski and Caswell taking snaps with Ethan Baugh, Thomas David and Cagle getting a bulk of the carries. Bradie Montie anchors a solid offensive line. Wide Receiver, Evan Saroli is a threat on the outside for the Jags.

FNV Outlook: This should be a great game that could go either way. Allen Park has a great tradition and always has very good solid football players who understand what it means to play for the Jags. The match up to watch is the Huron offense vs. the Allen Park defense. Huron’s Smith provides matchup problems for virtually any defense and if Myers returns on Friday, that will allow Molnar to play on the opposite side of the field which should open up the RPO game for the Chiefs. If you’re looking for a game to go to or watch on live streaming this may be your best bet on Friday night.
