Here are the FNV Week 4 Player of the Week nominees. Be sure to get over to vote @ FNVictors on Twitter.
Cole Jondro, RB, SMCC: The sophomore showed why he is a star in the making, as he rushed for 227 yards and a touchdown in the Falcons’ 47-40 win over Grosse Ile.
Jacob Lewis, RB, Ida: With the Blue Streaks down 14-0 to Onsted, it was Lewis who single handedly turned the game around with five consecutive touchdowns. The senior finished the night with a career-best 192 yards rushing and five scores.
Devon Shaw, RB, Whiteford: Shaw rushed for 215 yards and three scores in Whiteford’s 60-18 rout of Pittsford.
Riverview Offensive Line: The Pirates of Riverview beat Jefferson 47-12 and rushed for 402 yards in the game. Because the Pirates use a variety of backs, nobody jumps off the stat sheet. This week FNV decided to nominate the entire offensive line including the TE’s in Coach Derek McLaughlin’s ground attack. (C) Avery Thomas, (G’s) Patrik Fioretti/Justin Shank, (T’s) Drake Begeman/Gabe Landskroener, (TE’s) Landon Kincaid/Cal Lockhart.

If Brown was 6'3", he would be D1/P5 all the way. He is not, but that does not take away from any attribute that he has.... Best QB in the league with the injury to Myers... maybe even before injury??? Same with Pizzo... great kid, lacks height but would put him in the SAK ( Swiss Army Knife) category, willing to do whatever it takes...In the immortal words of Jimmy McGinty," It takes heart, lots and lots of heart." These 2 have it. #GOFALCONS
The SMCC-GI game was incredible as was Cole Jondro's performance. Another performance worth noting from that game was GI's Senior QB Nate Brown throwing for 307 yards, with 4 TD's and no picks.
Riverview dad here and I think Nate is unappreciated. He might be the most accurate QB I’ve seen and throwing for 300 isn’t something we see a lot of in our league
Adam, I will just clarify that he is not unappreciated within the GI circle, but he is overlooked outside of GI.
In haste, I wrote “un” instead of “under” but it still probably gets the same response. When you see a player every week you start seeing all the things others miss.
Because there are always deserving players, we only nominate 4 each week and they are always members of a winning team.
Yes, Brown has some game.
