Read and see what picks Frank, Gary and Chris made for MHSAA High School Football week 5.
Ida @ Blissfield
FNV Thoughts: Huge game for the Blue Streaks against the FNV #2 ranked team in Division 6. Don’t be surprised if Ida pulls off the upset.
Dundee @ Hillsdale
FNV Thoughts: Hillsdale’s only loss is to Blissfield, this may end up being a long bus ride for the Vikings.
Monroe @ Bedford
FNV Thoughts: This is probably a coin flip game where you can throw out the records each year in the game where they play for the Golden Cleat, but our collective heads like the Trojans in this one.
Carlson @ Lincoln Park
FNV Thoughts: The Railsplitters are in rebuilding mode again. There is just too much talent for the Marauders in this game.
Bishop Foley @ Riverview Gabriel Richard
FNV Thoughts: The winner in this game will most likely play Everest in the CHSL Championship game while securing a very high seed in their district.
Whiteford @ Britton-Deerfield
FNV Thoughts: This game was a 58-56 shoot out won by the Bobcats last season. Expect more defense to be played this year.
Summerfield @ Morenci
FNV Thoughts: Look for the Bulldogs to win this game….the Summerfield Bulldogs.
Williamston @ Olivet
FNV Thoughts: Olivet comes in as the #7 ranked team in the FNV Division 5 rankings while Williamston is ranked #5 in the FNV Division 4 poll. This should be a great game.
Lansing Catholic Central @ Mason
FNV Thoughts: Tradition rich Lansing Catholic Central travels to the # 8 ranked team in the FNV Division 3 rankings. This should be another great game played in the Lansing area on Friday.
Flat Rock @ Huron
FNV Thoughts: Big rivalry game between the Chiefs and Rams on Huron’s new field. Last year’s game was a shootout. Don’t expect one this season.
Airport @ Milan
FNV Thoughts: Milan has won 10 straight against Airport, but the Jets are more than capable of pulling off the upset this week.
Jefferson @ SMCC
FNV Thoughts: Another big rivalry game in the Huron League. The Falcons have beaten the Bears 3 years in a row by a combined score of 121-10. FNV expects a much closer game between these two schools on Friday.
Riverview @ Grosse Ile
FNV Thoughts: The annual battle for the Colvin Cup takes place on the island. On paper this looks like a big win for the Pirates, but don’t be surprised if the Red Devil offense gives Riverview fits.
Game of the Week
Erie Mason @ Sand Creek
An epic matchup between the FNV # 6 (Erie Mason) Division 6 ranked team and the FNV #1 (Sand Creek) Division 8 ranked team. These teams have the top 2 offenses and top 2 defenses in the TCC.

GO BUCS!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looking forward to what should be another good one between Airport and Milan. At stake for the winner is 3 possible playoff home games, with the winner of this game hosting the loser in the 2nd round or district final. Like I said in a earlier post Airport has been so close the last few games against Milan, maybe this is the year they get over the hump.
