MHSAA High School Football teams from around the state will start practice tomorrow amidst the Covid-19 pandemic. Things are different this season because of the virus as the MHSAA brass and athletic departments have been navigating this tricky time.
This week of practice will basically be dedicated to acclimatization as teams will only be allowed to wear helmets in the first full week of practice. No scrimmages will take place this season as teams will minimize activity around other teams and will focus on getting ready for their week 1 opponent.
The MHSAA will continue to monitor the situation and will make any necessary changes as the state of the pandemic shifts and most likely upon the direction of Governor Whitmer.
FNV will attempt to give you the same coverage you have always relied on and we hope and pray that there is a way to have a meaningful season that is both safe and secure for players, coaches, and fans.
As usual we will be reaching out to coaches to try and give you as much as we can about the teams and players this season. Please note, that coaches will have extra things to focus on this season and have limited time, so our coverage may be limited to what teams we are able to get info on.
So with that said, Let Them Play!
