Due to the Covid-19 Pandemic, Friday Night Victors will be honoring those 2020 graduating seniors who played for one of the FNV teams that played Michigan High School Football during the 2019 football season.
Luke Bilan son of Tom & Leah Bilan of Monroe
SMCC, Senior 245 lb, 6’1″ Offensive, and Defensive lineman #75.
Luke has played football since the 4th grade for St. Michaels school. He played with some of his winning championship teammates consistently since 4th grade and always on that line. Lukes height, weight, and ability to move opponents on the line so Alex or others can get through has made him a dominant player.
Luke also threw Varsity discus and shot put for the past 3 years looking forward to this spring after he broke his toe bone in 2 places last year, smashing it into the kickboard during a meet. Sadly, that never came to fruition this spring.
Luke has been active in scouting since the first grade, and 7 years in Boy Scouts. He’s attained the rank of Eagle Scout. His project took place at St. Michaels Catholic Church refurbishing all 157 kneelers; he raised over $12,000 for his project. Luke has donated over 400 + hours of service to people and projects in need. He is a welding merit badge counselor, teaching over 100 scouts a summer. 2019 he became a Cub Day Camp assistant counselor. Sadly, these jobs were lost this summer due to the pandemic.
Luke is an Altar server for the past 8 years at St. Michaels
Lukes future plans are to earn a bachelor’s degree in Welding Engineering Technology at Ferris State University this fall. He’s earned the Ferris Crimson Scholarship that is renewable each year for $1,500. At press time, he is still awaiting awards to 12 more scholarships in welding valued at over $20,000. These scholarships are awarded in late July.
