Most schools don't want their AD coaching, so I doubt that happens. Dundee should be a desirable job. Good athletic program, supportive principal and AD, nice fan support and a brand new facility scheduled for fall. It should be a no-brainer for a solid coach, but you have to let people be. Let them coach and do their job. You will scare good candidates away, if upper administration and board members micro-manage or lean on people too heavily.
Upper administration and board members meddling in athletics is the story of Dundee Schools since the 80's. Sad but true. I don't blame Coach Mac for stepping away, I have seen this play out too many times in my time in the community. No offense to them but wrestling is the only sport that no administrator or board member will go after.
Thanks coach for all you did, my son had a great experience!
I was talking to people in the community at a recent basketball game, none of the current assistants want the job because of the administration. With them coming off a playoff appearance and a new stadium coming, you'd think there would be plenty of applicants.
I bet Coach O, their athletic director takes over .
Coach McElvany to Carlson ?
Coach McElvany is now on staff at SMCC where he teaches. I don't think he ever applied for the job at Carlson.
Wats Dundee gonna do??
