Milan’s Tristen Hines has been named Friday Night Victors Overall Player of the Year. The 6-0, 175 lb senior was the “Straw That Stirred the Drink” for coach Jesse Hoskins Big Reds this season. Milan finished the regular season 9-0 and 11-1 overall while winning the Huron League.
Hines was as versatile as any player in the state this season and excelled on both sides of the ball. The Eastern Michigan University commit ran for 1,609 yards and 27 TD’s and threw for 1,246 yards and 15 scores. His QB rating was 114.1. On defense, Hines recorded 86 tackles and 4 interceptions.
Milan finished with a 33-11 record and two Huron League titles in Hines four years on varsity. Hines finished with 1,614 yards passing and 3,339 yards rushing and accounted for 66 TD’s on offense. On defense, Hines recorded 334 tackles and 15 interceptions.
