Week 4 Player of the Week Poll

Here are the candidates for the week 4 Player of the Week. The Week 3 winner was QB Austin Myers of New Boston Huron.

Devin Albain, QB, Summerfield: The Bulldogs’ signal-caller let it fly on Friday, as he threw for a career-high 405 yards and five touchdowns in Summerfield’s 37-20 win over Stockbridge.

Christian Brown, RB, Bedford: Brown picked up right where he left off last week, as he rushed for 218 yards and four touchdowns in Bedford’s 63-28 rout of Ann Arbor Skyline. The 63 points was a school record for the Mules.

Stoney Buell, LB, Dundee: As the saying goes, “big time players make big time plays in big spots,” Buell followed up his performance last week with a team-leading 16 tackles, including a stop on fourth-and-goal with 25 seconds left to preserve a 15-14 win over Ida for the Vikings.

Tristen Hines, QB, Milan: In a game where the score looked more like a basketball game, it was another day at the office for Hines. The senior rushed for 221 yards and four touchdowns, and passed for another 212 yards and and four touchdowns as Milan outlasted Flat Rock 57-43.

Nick Marchant, RB, Whiteford: The Bobcats’ senior was asked to move from quarterback to running back before the season started, and on Friday, he got his chance to shine. Marchant rushed for 244 yards and four touchdowns in Whiteford’s 42-14 win over Adrian Madison.

Alex Morgan, RB, SMCC: With the Falcons facing a must-win game to stay in the Huron League race, they turned to Morgan. The senior answered the call with 142 yards and two touchdowns on the ground as the Falcons defeated Riverview 33-14 to remain a game behind Milan in the Huron League standings.

Nolan Vanover, WR, Jefferson: The Bears opened up their offense more, and it paid dividends. Vanover caught eight passes for 140 yards and two scores, and also tallied 32 rushing yards and a score in the Bears’ come from behind 28-24 win over Grosse Ile. The win was the first over Grosse Ile since September 4, 2015, and it also snapped a 16-game winless streak in Huron League play.

  • i disagree, although “milan kid” put in a valid effort, #34 of smcc obviously stole the show. kid straight up flies. good luck blocking this kid, his footwork is impeccable. once he sheds the block, it’s over for the ball carrier. he stalks his prey and absolutely lays the boom. remember this kid when he goes somewhere big. #impactplayer

  • Best game Jefferson played was last Friday night I’m probably partial to one of the players but it was a awesome game

  • Jefferson Nolan Vanover should be voted because he shows true heart for the game and wants to make the team better and it would a big confidence boost for everyone

  • Little disappointed that CCs OL was not nominated- starts up front and they did a heck of a job on Riverview.
