Noah Beaudrie, QB, Erie Mason: The Eagles’ junior QB made a statement in Week 1, as he totaled 497 total yards (264 passing, 233 rushing) and six total touchdowns in Erie Mason’s 58-40 win over Summerfield. The win was the Eagles’ first over Summerfield since 1989, and the first season opening win since 2003 when they defeated Whitmore Lake 42-7.
Wyatt Bergmoser, QB/RB/K, SMCC: In return to action after tearing his ACL last season, the senior didn’t miss a beat for the Falcons. Bergmoser went 4-for-4 on his PATs, booted a 24-yard field goal, ran for a touchdown and threw for another in SMCC’s 32-22 win over Madison Heights Madison.
Noah Blankenship, QB/DB, Airport: The 2-way standout helped the Jets defeat Ida in the opener by a score of 37-24. The senior QB rushed for 95 yards and 2 TD’s on just 5 carries and was 3-3 in passing for another 83 yards. From his DB position of defense he had an interception and a fumble recovery.
Tristen Hines, QB, Milan: Hines got his senior campaign off to a strong start, as he rang up 216 total yards and accounted for five touchdowns in the Big Reds’ 47-14 rout of Bridgeport.
Jefferson Bears: Jefferson recorded their first victory since October 21, 2016 and erased a 19 game losing streak in the process by virtue of their 28-14 victory over Dearborn Heights Annapolis. It was the first career victory for Head Coach, Gene Genoe.
Julian Poole, RB, Carlson: Poole turned in a breakout game, as he recorded 200 all-purpose yards (110 rushing amd 90 receiving) and two touchdowns in the Marauders 42-21 win over Southgate Anderson.
Isaac Smith, WR, Huron: Smith also had a breakout performance, as he caught four passes for 84 yards and three touchdowns in the Chiefs’ 41-0 shutout of Melvindale. The win was the first shutout by the Chiefs since a 41-0 blanking of Riverview in 2008.

I voted for the Airport QB Blankenship, if you were at the game you would have seen him complete a 74 yard pass. 40 in the air and hit the reciever in stride. Hope to see more of this kids arm.

Noah Beaudrie is a real good QB and he is really fast!! I remember some of the Haters on this Blog saying last season Tristen Hines was not a Div. 1 player!! He committed to Eastern Mich.I hope Eastern signs him too! He and Tristen probably scored 50 td's together in the 7 on 7 league and they would click again in college. Oh by the way EMU is a D-1 school!!

Even though Beaudrie had a lot more yards I had to go with Bergmoser- there is nothing like scrambling around and them throwing a TD pass on a botched field goal attempt. Sounds like one heck of an athletic play against a pretty good team.
mason kid is good 7 v 7 style QB will never go to college for college football. Maybe some where small. Nothing bigger than MAC. Not even Ferris State.

Yes pretty uninformed comment, Like Gary said MAC is D1 and when you say not even Ferris state well they are D2 (so you are way confused if you think Ferris can compete in the MAC) not that Ferris is bad just different level. so this sounds like you have some hate in your hart for a kid, that from what I see has work ethic, tools and determination to play what ever level he wants..........Did he beat your team?

Beaudrie is a heck of a play, but the best in the nation is a bit of a stretch. Did some research on his recruiting profile. He is currently ranked 331 according to max preps in his overall class (all positions). Which is a great feet considering some of the talent in the detroit area. If he can replicate this all season he could crack the top 200 by the end of the year. Like Gary mentioned he has two years to boost his stock, and most of us see that happening. By far the best qb in monroe county, head and shoulders above the rest. That is not a knock to any of the other qbs in the area. Hines had a heck of a game at qb, and so did the airport kid. A lot of talent in the area as of late. Best thing of all is the talent is spread around the teams. No super teams around here.
My vote is Jefferson. Considering all the work they put in this offseason, and trying to change the culture over there. They get the monkey off their back and now they can just play football.
Great to see Bermosser back to where he left off. They missed him in the backfield during the playoff run last year, and they really missed his kicking ability.
A lot of great performances in week 1, looking to be a great year of football.
