  • I was standing on the goal line, Ida's player was IN! terrible spot that cost them a much deserved victory. They had their chances to make the game a blowout and didn't get it done. Their fullback was a beast today.

Hats off to Dundee, their defense was stellar all game but they need to figure out their offense. #24 is their entire team

  • Huron cameout on fire on the first two drives. The QB did whatever he wanted, ran effectively and threw some nice passes. Looked like it was going to be a long night for Airport, but to their credit they didn't panic. Raisanen was unbelievable in that second quarter, broke a couple tackles on his 87 yarder. Airport had a nice 10 minute drive to open the second half and tie the game at 21. Huron had first and goal from the 10 with about 5 minutes left but a bad pitch from QB to RB lost them about 10 yards which eventually led to a 39 yard FG that was missed. Airport took over with about 4 minutes left and put together a nice drive that ended with a QB sneak from a yard out with 7 seconds left. Hats off to both teams for playing one hell of a football game.

  • Sorry about the delay in scores tonight. Gary is the color guy for SMCC football on 98.3 Nash Icon and I had our first home game ever. Updating wasn’t the first thing on my mind tonight.

    Chris

  • Saw Riverview and Cc tonight.

As I said last week... Riverviews D was pretty vulnerable and tonight CC proved it. They did not punt once. Kids played hard but it was obvious from the beginning that CC was the better team.

CC upfront was able to get a great push all night. They have several good backs with speed and power. A real nice tram down there.

Riverview had a pick 6 and a 4 and 1 sweep for a td. That was it. They could not move the ball. With their style 2nd and 12 is a difficult task and they were in second and 12 all night.

When you play that style your Jimmy’s have to be better than the other teams joes. And tonight that was not the case.

21 on Riverview is a special kid. Had another interception and took it for 6 and he had some nice plays on O as well. They only hit on a few plays but when they got the edge they had a few nice gains.

Riverview got down pretty big early and didn’t quit, they clawed back and kids played hard and refused to quit.

Riverview has a nice team. I think they will lose 2 two more games. Milan, Thurston, and then draw Allen Park in the first round of the playoffs.

Another great week in the Huron league.

      • Riverview got DOMINATED last night by CC. the score does not show how badly CC beat the view. CC had one of there usual drives at the end of the game to seal it. about a 9 min drive and a TD at the end. to leave the view down about 20 with 2 min left with the ball. best game cc has played all year long. period.

food for thought. Was Riverview overrated coming into this game? and did they just receive a bit of humble pie?? or was CC just slept on and didn't play there best of games in the first 3??

        • Riverview is overrated for the size school they are but not for the Huron league. They are still a top team in the Huron. But not for their class.

Why does everyone think Riverview is so good. Yes the are overrated. I swear 2017 still lingers... let’s look at some facts.

Riverview has 3 wins, over Romulus 0-4, flat rock 1-3, Huron 1-3. They have beat up on teams with a combined 2-10 record. They finally played a good team and got ran off the field..

No one talks about how 1/2 of Riverviews schedule is literally 2/3 their size.

          Riverview 915 students

          Flat rock 609students
          Grosse ile 587 students
          Smcc 320 students
          Milan 712
          Huron 885
          Airport 815
          Jefferson 612

They beat up on a bunch of schools much smaller. Yes in 2017 they were excellent... but it’s not 2017...

          • when talking about the size difference of the view compared to the Huron league teams, you cannot. Yes they have more kids than those teams but they are in the league. They cannot just not play this teams. It is not there choice.

        • Chewing on some of that food; I would say that if View is overrated, then the Falcon win isn’t that impressive. I would say that football is a game of matchups and that this matchup favored SMCC. Both teams are very good, but the result wasn’t that unexpected, other than possibly the final score.

          • @nonsmccfan. So if Riverview got taught by the cc coaches how to run the T. how is Riverview not able to stop there own offense??? I just think it depends on the year of the teams. In 2017 Riverview killed cc cuz that team was just unreal. since 2016 when the view started to run the T cc has won more. I just think it depends on the heavies upfront defensive and offensive for who wins these ball games.

          • When Riverview changed their offense a few years back, the SMCC coaches were the ones to teach it to them.
SMCC will always have Riverviews number. For the most part Riverview beats everyone else in the league. Always have trouble with SMCC. Easy to stop somebody when you know what they are running.

Riverview is good, they will win the rest of their games except maybe Milan.

          • alright. I would agree. Riverview was just favored in this game. and I think CC had a 100% better chance of beating the View than Milan because of how things lined up across from them.

Also was not very impressed with the DE play from View. but they have a speed back that does sweeps for them. holy cow man. that kid is gonna go somewhere. fast and quick and good feet. watch out.

          • I would say CC was favored. That’s why I picked them. I think View will Fair better against Milan because of View’s two speed rush DE’s. Better match up for View. I say View wins that game.

    • so you think the view is more of a spread team defense? Milan upfront is bigger and stronger than CC personally. I don't know if anyone this year in the league will be able to stop Hines though. He is swift and cooking teams right now.

      • I think lean, tall, fast defensive ends are better against a Milan type offense than a SMCC type offense.

        • Flat Rocks Davis tore up Riverview. They just self destructed in the red zone. Hines is a much quicker version of Davis. spread them out and Hines will have a day.

        • Gary besides just saying an impressive win. What did you see from upstairs in the booth from your catholic boys?
