Dundee
Win
and you’re in. If Dundee defeats Hillsdale, they clinch a spot. A loss, and the
Vikings will be sweating it out on Selection Sunday. Gary Edit:  it looks bleak with a week 9 loss.
Despite
the lack of bonus points from non-conference opponents, the Vikings got some
help from Hudson knocking off Blissfield. Dundee fans should be rooting for
Hudson to knock off Brooklyn Columbia Central, as that will improve their Bonus
Point Average.
If
the Vikings lose to Hillsdale, their PPA will be anywhere from 45.335 to
46.113. That puts them on the bubble. A win over Hillsdale, which looks more
feasible now that the Hornets have been knocked from the unbeaten ranks, would
put the Vikings at 57.890 with the potential to jump to 58.667.
Possible
First Round Opponents: Grosse Ile, Almont, Olivet, Ida
Ida
Ida
has clinched, and will have an opportunity to bolster their PPA when they visit
Blissfield in Week 9
The
Blue Streaks won’t get much more in BPA from the non-conference foes, but they
did get some help from Hudson in terms of LCAA wins. In addition, Dundee still
stands as the best win, so Ida fans should be rooting for Dundee and Hudson to
beat BCC and Hillsdale to help the BPA. As an added bonus, an Ida win over
Blissfield combined with losses by BCC and Hillsdale would give the Blue
Streaks a share of the LCAA title.
I
have Ida’s PPA with 6 wins ranging anywhere from 56.335 to 57.890. With 7 wins,
that jumps to 65.556, but could be as high as 67.112. Ida could be starting on
the road, but don’t completely
rule out a home
game for the Blue Streaks in the first round.
Possible
First Round Opponents: Lansing Catholic, Dearborn Heights Robichaud, Almont,
Macomb Lutheran North, Marine City, Ovid-Elsie, Groose Ile, Detroit Osborn,
Detroit Denby
Summerfield
The
Bulldogs are still mathematically alive, but need to win at Morenci on Friday.
Summerfield
wasn’t expected to get much in BPA, but after Morenci defeated Adrian Madison
last week, they got a little more help.
I
expect Summerfield’s PPA to be either 38.447 or 38.558. A Whitmore Lake win
over Sand Creek could bump things up as high as 39.336, which could be enough
to get them in the Division 8 bracket.
Possible
Opponents: Pittsford, Lenawee Christian, Reading, Whiteford, Sterling Heights
Parkway Christian, Clarkston Everest Collegiate.
Whiteford
The
million dollar question with the Bobcats is which division will they be in, 7
or 8?
Whiteford
closes out the season with woebegone Britton-Deerfield. As for bonus points,
Blissfield’s loss to Hudson caused a drop in the projected PPA I had. I now
have a PPA of 72.888 for the Bobcats, but it could be bumped to 73.777 with a
Blissfield win over Ida.
Possible
First Round Opponents: (if D7): Allen Park Cabrini, Riverview Gabriel Richard,
Madison Heights Bishop Foley, Sand Creek, Clinton, Hudson (If D8): Summerfield,
Addison, Athens, Waterford Our Lady
Monroe
The
good news: the Trojans close out the season at Lake Orion with a chance to
bolster their PPA. The bad news: they could wind up facing a buzzsaw in the
first round.
I
have Monroe’s PPA at 83.335 with a win over Lake Orion. That won’t be enough to
get a home game.
Possible
First Round Opponents: Detroit Catholic Central, Canton, Saline, Woodhaven,
Grosse Pointe South, Belleville, Detroit Cass Tech

GI, SMCC, Riverview, Bedford Carlson and Milan outlook coming soon.

  • Thanks for your data on playoff possibilities.
This is some of the stuff I enjoy reading on your blog.
Good luck to all and any region teams making the playoffs.

  • I wish that were the case Falcon07. I want Dundee in as well. We have to keep it real here however. Dundee HAS to win to get in. PERIOD

They have a shot. JUST WIN BABY!!!

  • It will be very very close for the Vikings at 5-4. They will either be the last one in or last one out more than likely. Wins by Onsted, Stockbridge and Hudson would certainly help. You gotta pull for Mac and his team after all the heartbreakers they have gone through over the years, it would be great to see that program rewarded with a playoff spot!

Good luck from a Falcon fan!

  • I have Dundee, best case scenario, at 46.549 Playoff Points. Going by history, that wont be close. I do know we will have more 5-4 teams in this year. Possibly near 50. However, I still dont think that will be enough.

  • I took all that into account. Dundee will be one of the lowest 5-4 teams in Class B. In my opinion, they must win.

  • Dundee has a better chance than you think. The number of 5-4 teams is going to be at an all time high this year. They need a lot of luck. Maybe AAH actually winning a game could help. Onsted will give them more Class B points.
