Varsity Athletic Week 5 Players of the Week

Christian Brown, RB, Bedford: With Jeff Wood’s team facing elimination from playoff contention, the Mules turned to their star running back. Brown delivered with 143 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 14 carries in a 43-7 rout of Ann Arbor Pioneer to keep their playoff hopes alive.
Zak Thompson, QB, and Karar Al-Rekabi, WR, Grosse Ile: In a hostile environment where opposing Flat Rock threw everything but the kitchen sink at Grosse Ile, Thompson found the answer to the Rams’ trickery in Al-Rekabi as the Red Devils survived a trip to Flat Rock 33-28. Thompson went 13-of-24 for 254 yards and three touchdowns, and also ran for a score. Al-Rekabi caught five of Thompson’s passes for 132 yards, and all three of Thompson’s touchdown passes. Gross Ile improved to 5-0 for the second time in three years.
Sam Cousino and Alex Morgan, RBs, SMCC: Despite season-ending injuries to key players, the Falcons kept on truckin’ as Cousino (101 yards, touchdown) and Morgan (109 yards, two touchdowns) combined for 210 yards and three scores. The output was much needed as the Falcons held off a feisty New Boston Huron 28-23 to improve to 4-1.
Hunter Aeschbacker, RB, Milan: The senior running back helped his team rebound from a loss to Riverview last week, as he rushed for 148 yards and four touchdowns in a 46-7 rout of Jefferson. Milan improved to 4-1 on the season.

Logan Murphy, RB, Whiteford: Last season’s leading rusher in Monroe County hasn’t had to do too as much this season, thanks to the Bobcats winning by an average of 50 points. But the senior made the most of his touches in a 48-0 shutout of Adrian Madison. Murphy rushed ten times for 148 yards and three scores, and he also surpassed the 3,000 rushing yard mark for his career.

  • I wanted to put you a very little remark to finally give thanks as before over
the pretty strategies you have documented on this website.

It has been really incredibly generous with people like you to make openly just what many individuals would have advertised for an electronic book to help with making some bucks for themselves, most notably seeing that you might well have done it if you ever considered necessary.
The pointers as well served to be the easy way to be sure
that other people online have similar dreams just as my own to
realize more in terms of this condition. I think there are many more fun opportunities in the future for individuals that read carefully your blog.

  • Generally I don't learn article on blogs, however I would like
to say that this write-up very pressured me to check out and
do so! Your writing taste has been surprised me. Thank you,
    quite great article.
