Congrats to Coach Derek McLaughlin and the Riverview Pirates.
Looks like I underestimated Ypsi Lincoln.
That was a different brand of football over at Carlson on Friday
Cheers Cheers for ol’ Flat Rock High. Congrats on the playoffs.
The SMCC defense hasn’t given up a TD in 3 games.
Dexter was much needed medicine.
Were the offenses that good or the defenses that bad over in Carleton yesterday?
They had the official mic’d for calls yesterday at Carlson. Pretty cool.
Ida?
The power rankings will most likely get a shake up.
Apparently I was wrong, damn has origins from the old French word dampner.
Big games, tough opponents for playoff hopefuls Milan, Huron, Monroe and SMCC this week.
After seeing the field at Carlson yesterday, somebody in the area needs to get field turf.
Where was Gary last night?
Players play, coaches coach and parents cheer, not jeer.
Aren’t most QB’s good character guys?
Jefferson will get a win, I guarantee it.
Does Grosse Ile have a week 9 game?
Ting or Ted? It really means the same thing.
Great job by the Carlson brass last night, they really know how to run a game.
Is the Huron League any good this year?

I believe Milan is firmly in D4 this season (granted, it's crazy to see Milan go from 1016 students in 2011 and 772 in 2017, but that's a discussion for another day).
8:30 did bring up a good point that I meant to mention earlier. In midseason, the coaching staff decided to move Furtney from OT to H-back/TE. While Furtney is still most often blocking on the strong side edge, that edge is extended out a bit further now. Furtney can also line up as a lead blocker inside or shift before the snap. With a roster size as small as Milan's, you need to maximize the versatility of your players. We've even seen the big fella haul in a few passes since the position change.
Props to Milan's coaching staff for making that change and to Furtney and his teammates for embracing it.
A HEALTHY MILAN TEAM CAN GO UP AGAINST ANYONE IN D3. ESPECIALLY WITH #49 AT FB NOW AND THE POWER RUNNING GAME OF #44.
I saw that scrimmage and at the time I thought Riverview was the better team. With that said, we are eight weeks removed from that point and I think Carlson probably has more talent and more speed. Carlson looked really good for about a half yesterday but was ultimately beaten by a very very good Wyandotte team. I do think Riverview could beat them especially if the game was on grass at Riverview. If they play in the playoffs it will be most likely at Carlson on the turf. I think that's a different game.
Chris can comment as well. I've seen both play. View would have to play very well to win. They did scrimmage and I've heard View won the scrimmage. It's a scrimmage but both teams were trying. I think it's a great game.
Hey Chris you've seen both teams play, how do you see Riverview matching up with Carlson?
Riverview has also been to the state finals twice in our lifetime.
Huron won a Regional three years ago.
@6:52, I have to agree with you. Yes, Huron has built a huge football program over the years. They've even had some successes. But I'm sorry. What have you got to show for it? Until you get some hardware, you are the Cleveland Indians of the Huron League. I'd call you the Chicago Cubs, but they won last year. If you'd rather have a football reference, you're the Detroit Lions.
At this point, I just wish everyone would focus on week nine and then the playoffs.
Just curious if Riverview got their HL trophy last night, or do they wait until after next week.
