The Kicking Mules of Bedford (6-3) will travel up I 75 to take on the undefeated Bears of Wyandotte (9-0) on Friday. Bedford finished 2nd in the SEC Red this season while Wyandotte won the Downriver League. Bedford qualified for the playoffs for the 7th time in the last 9 seasons while the Bears qualified for the 12th straight year. These two teams met last year in the playoffs with Bedford winning 43-21. Wyandotte has never beaten Bedford.
Wyandotte is led by veteran coach Ron Adams. The Bears are led offensively by senior QB Ronnie Miller who is 16-3 as a starter and has thrown for over 1,000 yards and 18 TD’s. Senior RB Allen Woodward leads the way on the ground with nearly 100 yards per game while scoring 11 TD’s this season. Senior Ryley Stewart is the leading receivers for the Bears with nearly a 22 yards average per catch and 7 TD’s. Nick Robinson, Joe Cioccio and Brad Cholette lead the offensive line. On defense the Bears are led by senior LB Andrew Murasky and senior DL Hunter Sauve. Seniors Charlie Passco and Preston Grew lead the secondary.
Bedford is coached by Jeff Wood who is now in his 10th season and has played an extremely tough schedule. The offense is led by QB Austin Malabanan, he and Christian Brown have been solid in the rushing attack this season. The offensive line is led by Austin Emerson. On defense, the Mules are led by MLB Jordan Cooker along with Mason Hullibarger and Bryce Krimmel.
This is an interesting match up, Bedford’s offense is very unique while Wyandotte’s defense has been outstanding this season giving up just 7.5 ppg. The Kicking Mules have a solid defense as well and should provide a stiff resistance to Wyandotte’s diverse offense.
