What goes around, comes around. Isn’t that right Airport? Congrats on the win!
Looks like Bedford got the running game going against Skyline.
Don’t look now, but Carlson is 4-0.
Don’t be surprised if Dundee’s week 4 opponent, Hudson ends up at Ford Field.
No surprise down in Erie last night.
Hopefully the Rams win over SMCC is the only thing similar to the 2001 football season.
Looks like Grosse Ile played well for a half.
When was the last time Huron started the season 4-0?
Ida ran like heck, just forgot to play defense.
No offense to Airport, but while following that score I was hoping Jefferson and Gene Gennoe would get their first win.
How many healthy players does Milan have left? It’s like a MASH unit over there.
Really Monroe? We so, would like to jump on the bandwagon.
Super impressed with Riverview last night.
Gary has been saying all year that SMCC’s first five games could be losses.
Big shout out to all the Milan and Riverview fans that said hi last night. Thanks for reading the blog.
Thank God for the Michigan defense because Wilton Speight looks like the second coming of Tyler O’Connor.
Do any other concession stands have an item that can compare to Riverview’s Double Cheeseburger?
Pretty sure I beat Gary in the week 4 picks.
Coach of the Year thus far? Giarmo? Spiess? Duffy?
Wasn’t it just a few years ago that FR fans were saying they needed to leave the Huron League because they couldn’t compete?
Has anyone seen the fuboTV commercial?
Forward down the field!

Hey Chris they came around with green 50/50 tickets in the stands and at the gate! So we enjoy supporting the other schools! Then in the third qtr they came thru with orange tickets and the guy actually told us that the orange tickets were going to win tonight! Well imagine how we felt when they called an orange ticket!!!! lol also Riverview is the only school in the HL that charges everyone $ 5.00 !
Great comment 7:16. Agree totally about K.I.S.S. in high school football.
CC and Riverview are dressing 24 and 25.
Shocked a school like Milan with its tradition, only has 23 players on Varsity.
7:16 I don't know details of the JV quarterback kid you speak of. But agree football is played well at a very basic level! A team where everyone can execute the play 100% could get by with less than 20 plays. Some time kids are asked to remember to many plays and half the players are at 80%. I think that is where things go wrong! Coaches remember how many kids forgot helmets shoes etc for practice? Or how many times you were there at the school to let someone in to get backpack with homework after 9pm? Maybe that's why so many great plays come to your mind. You spend so much time on the game. But remember coaching those 11 guys on the field you only have so much time and so many young people to guide. Try to keep it basic more kids will understand the game, and l think more wins etc will come ! That my arm chair story .But thanks for being there and for all you do and opening the locker room at 9pm and this I'm sure applies to all coaches. And best I can remember that was my coach 35 years ago or so did the same thing. That's basic coaching! And remember they answered that call to coaching that the rest of us could NEVER find time for. Thanks Coaches!
Hey, football mom, I'm with you! Forgot about the lottery guy. I guess a stopped clock can be right more than just twice a day!

Sorry this is a copied message but one I think needs to be said and seen by some people who clearly do not understand football. Not sure people would have viewed it so late in the other topic area so brought it forward. To say great programs change with the times, is fundamentally not true. In SMCC's case Sandersen, Giarmo, and now Kipf are doing what they have always had success with. To say the best qb is on jv is crazy parent talk. The kid can throw some, but as a runner too slow and he is fragile when hit. Riverview was good for many years under Don Lessner who did what he knew all those years. Cisco had good teams in Jefferson running rip fly T formations, Steve Robb Had success at Milan running power I, Ida, Hudson, Airport with Redmon and Dundee have had success running T and Wing T. Canton, Zeeland West, TC West, Carlson all run T with success. Old school football works period. Airports back to the Wing T, Huron is back to the Wing T, Riverview is back to the T. Works pretty darn well. So please stop selling garbage and filling your young players heads with garbage that old school football doesn't work. Your wrong. Take a closer look at many leagues here in SE Michigan you'll find more and more parity. And one more thing for the arm chair qb's and fair weather fans/alumni. When a job does open put your whistle on, bring your resume to the interview, and actually coach something at the high school level before bad mouthing coaches. Good luck to all the Huron League teams. Its nice to see the mix up at the top and the competition that's taking place on the field. Best to all the SE Michigan teams.
@Barney, I think the variation in this blog makes it enjoyable to read. I'm a football mom. I'm willing to bet, that there aren't a whole lot of women downriver that usually follow a football blog. On one hand, I enjoy the "meat and potatoes" (excuse the food reference) portion each week, that gives insight to what's coming for our team in the week ahead. On the other hand, the lottery guy and the burger references make me smile. I think these guys are doing a great job!
Finally, some more (not so) haute cuisine references. I like where this blog is heading.
