The fans voted and picked Huron’s Cameron Hitchen as the Quality Inn in Monroe Quality Performer of the Week. Hitchens received 43% of the 1,708 votes that were cast in a 48 hour period following the week 2 games. Congratulations to the other nominees on their “Quality Performance”.

Here is Cameron’s performance: The rugged senior RB/DE led the Chiefs with 78 yards and 2 TD’s as the Chiefs dumped Jefferson 44-13 Friday evening. Hitchens also recovered a fumble as Huron improved to 2-0 on the season.

  • Still sleeping on Troy Reissig from Erie Mason. 8 tackles, played the entire game, 100 plus rushing, 60 relieving a TD and. INT
And punted the ball that lead to Mason recovering for the tying TD.

  • Please note that I have all kinds of respect for the Jets program, coaches and players included. Milan visits Airport this season and that's never an easy game (see 2015).

Airport fans on this blog, however, have a bit of a reputation. Best of luck this season, and we'll see you in Week 8.

  • Those juggernauts are now Seniors and have a staff who believe in them and will be waiting for Huron at the front gate this Friday shutout looming at chiefs field?

  • Congrats to young Mr. Hitchen. I can't wait for the Milan v. Huron matchup this year.

7:59, you think that the sponsors should vote? I can't believe that, for example, the good people over at Little Vinny's are *not* going to vote for a Jefferson kid (or maybe a local SMCC kid that attended St. Charles'). Sponsors that are silent partners are the best partners.

They already like what Chris and Gary are doing to the point where they are investing funds into FNV and associating their name with this platform. I don't mind Quality Inn sponsoring an award at all as long as they leave the selection process alone.

...and with that, I'll back out of this conversation and go back to debating whether the beastly D1 bound 2017 Salem Rocks could topple the mighty 2014 Airport Jets JV juggernaut.
