Ten days until the best time of the year.
Any surprises this season?
Numbers are down some places, but up at others.
Player of the Year candidates? Austin Emerson, Bedford Mike Furtney, Milan and Ian Stewart, Carlson.
First year varsity coaches have a tendency to struggle.
Don’t believe me?
Jack Giarmo was 1-8 and Jesse Hoskins 0-9 there first year as varsity head coaches.
I was amazed at the size of the Bedford players on Saturday.
I see seven of the fourteen teams making the playoffs this season. Three with 5-4 records.
Will any one of these teams throw the ball this season?
Injuries have already changed the fortunes of some teams.
Defensive Player of the Year candidates? Tristen Hines, Milan, Brennan Spiess, Huron and Ben Miller, Dundee.
I only see one of our teams winning a league championship this year.
Of course, what do I know?
Look for some more youtube shows coming up with our team previews and predictions.

I hope all schools got thru their scrimmages without major injuries good luck to all teams as they begin their season next week
From what I found on the MHSAA website, MHSAA rules allow teams to conduct 4 scrimmages during the regular season. They are not allowed to scrimmage until they have conducted practices on 9 separate days and the day of the scrimmage may be counted in those nine days. So as long as those two teams practiced everyday since last Monday then Tuesday would have been the first day they could scrimmage. And they could scrimmage again on Thursday.
Gary I am sorry but Im not sure you have any reason to put them at #6 other than you being a homer. They lost a lot when they already didnt have much and some solid returners ended up injured and quitting.
smcc will not win more than 2 it's just gonna be an off year they will eventually bounce back but this year is gonna be difficult to get 3+.....if they get that coach k should be commended job well done its x and o
I think parents are the same anywhere. They are going to be critical about the team make up, playing time along with wins and losses. It kinda comes with the territory as a coach. One thing I know about the Huron League coaches; is that they are all pretty darn good guys and Kipf is certainly one of those. As an AD, coach and a parent of a high schooler I experience all ends of it personally. The tough part as a coach is when someone questions your integrity. Certainly uncalled for by anyone, especially parents whose only concern is their child.
Disregard my previous comment I though Bedford was going tonight.
What do you mean you watched Milan and Bedford scrimmage. Rules don't allow to scrimmages. Hopefully it wasn't a dual practice because the state has cracked down on those and are not allowing that anymore. If they did scrimmage and go against each other it's against MHSAA rules and both school will be ineligible to have another scrimmage or risk forfeiting their ability to play in the post season.
Our #6 team only winning 2 games. We don't know anything Chris! If you said 4 games.... I could buy it.
Wow! easy there Riverview fan - 8-1 ???
CC winning 2 games sounds about right
