New Boston Huron hired Tim Speiss to be the Chiefs new head football coach. Speiss coached last season as Swanton high school in Ohio, where he was the defensive coordinator. Speiss was the head coach at Genoa high school in Ohio prior to that and had a 22-2 record that included two undefeated regular seasons.

I wish Coach Spiess the best of luck this year but he has alot of work to do! There is talent but a serious lack of football IQ because of the never ending cycle of offenses and defenses the program has used. The Chiefs only averaged 17 points per game last year with the best group of talent in the league! I wonder how Coach Spiess's sons will impact the program.
I saw mentioned before he runs a wing-T. A typical Wing T formation is one TE with a wing. Offset backs(2) and a wideout.
Curious does anybody know the kind of offense and defense the new coach runs?
That is awesome. Somebody outside the same old crap area. Hopefully he can bring something new to the league instead of watching this same old stuff for the last 30 years.
Sure my 1974 pinto gets me to work everyday, but wouldn't most of us want a 2017 Mustang. Just saying.
Great coach! Very Smart hire
Welcome to the league Coach Spiess. The blog looks forward to covering your games and working with you to help bring exposure to Huron and the rest of the area teams.
Huron league, watch out.
This is Coach Spiess. Thank You for the welcome to the Huron League. I am excited to begin this new chapter, not only in my life, but also the lives of my two youngest Sons, who are both two year starters. I retired, from Ohio Public Schools, when my oldest Son graduated from high school. I went to Swanton to work for my former principal who is now the Superintendent. Huron feels like "Home Sweet Home" to my Family and we are EXCITED to get started.
As a Huron Alum and blog vet, welcome to the Huron League! I love to boast Huron as a top contender on here and always give my alma mater the upper hand; don't let me down! I look forward to seeing what you can do to further this program and see it taken to the next level. We've come a long way; take us further coach. Congratulations and good luck!

Coach Speiss is a great coach, great teacher, and great ambassador to kids. He will be missed at Swanton. I was privileged to experience his knowledge as he was apart of our baseball program. Coach Speiss was a HUGE part of helping Swanton Sports become relevant again. Thanks Coach and good luck.
As a Huron HS fan I welcome you. We have really good kids & lots of them playing football. With our youth program & Jr High teams you will be getting lots of kids. Once again welcome.
Sounds like a good hire by the Chiefs. EM
I can tell you that Huron did do interviews, because I was on the interview panel. We had the AD, Board Vice President, 4 parents (one was the President of Jr. Football program) we interviewed 5 candidates, some with Head Coaching experience some without. Coach Speiss was without question the best candidate. He has retired from teaching in Ohio, and is still a young man. He can come to Michigan to teach and keep is full retirement from Ohio. I would do the same thing if I were him.
