Ida and Whiteford still alive in playoffs also. Good Luck to all local teams.
Should be some good high school football this weekend.
Having played DCD so tough last year has pluses and minuses for Milan.
On the plus side, Milan will not be intimidated by a great team like DCD the way a team might if they only knew them by reputation or on film. The seniors, at least, have already gone toe to toe with them. They are a great team but not superhuman. Milan will know what to expect.
On the minus side, DCD will also know what to expect because of last year's game. Milan showed very little to those DCD scouts last Friday but the film from last season might prove more useful to their scouting. Last week, Milan kept to a few plays with a few wrinkles here and there and executed the heck out of those plays, especially on the offensive line. Barnes and Lindeman made the Denby defense pay for any false steps in their reads and Milan made Denby pay for playing 11 in the box. I'm betting that DCD believes that their defensive line and front seven will do a better job than Denby's and can therefore leave a safety or two back to prevent those massive runs.
Milan took care of business in their district, and now it's time for a bigger challenge. Should be a fun one!

You have something to say.-Say it.
Milan gave Country Day all they wanted last year winning 26-21 at the end of the quarter before the CD running back broke two amazing runs to win the game in the 4th. Milan is rolling right now and playing good football. Getting hendicks back from the broken leg helps even in a limited roll. These boys will fight their heart out against a strong and talented DCD team.

CC's lose to Clinton will never look good. They are "THE School of Champions."
I agree with everything you say.

DCD is a tough match up. It might get ugly.
Milan is at DCD, Saturday at 1pm
Sounds like Milan ran into a really athletic offense and not so great defense. Good for them for the district title, it's always great to add those to the Huron League.
I think DCD is a different animal. Milan won't get handled, but they'll have to play pretty flawless football to take them out. If they can find a way to win I really like their chances to make it to FF.
The Martian is a good movie. Not great, in my opinion, but good. I especially enjoyed the humor it had throughout; I wasn't expecting it to be funny at all and there was a fun balance of humor and intensity. I personally did not like the ending, but it didn't take away too much from the rest of it. I'd recommend it to a friend but wouldn't spend money to watch it again.
Spartyyyyyyy. While that call was atrocious and should not have been a TD, MSU did give up something like 65 yards on 2 plays within 20 seconds or so before that play. That's inexcusable. So yes, the refs handed Nebraska a TD on a silver platter, but the way MSU was playing on that final drive was pitiful, and I think Nebraska might have scored anyways. MSU is still in control of their own destiny...win out and you go to the conference championship. That's the only way they get there, though, as there's no more room for error.
Good win by the Wolverines. Some questionable officiating on both sides, but they got an easy win, which is a nice change of pace recently. If that Jake Rudock sticks around for the rest of the year, things could get interesting. Michigan needs OSU to beat MSU as well as winning out (@IU, @PSU, OSU) in order to make the conference championship. If I'm OSU I'm more scared of Michigan than I am of MSU at this point.
For all of the fans making the trip and hoping to sit during the game, they had better leave early. The stands are only on one side of DCD's field, and they aren't that big. The stands are built into a hill, and many fans will stand on the hill next to where the stands are if they can't get a seat in time.
I suppose DCD could put up some temporary bleachers, but just based on my recollection from the last playoff game where Milan played at DCD, I can't recommend enough that fans get there early to ensure they get a seat.
Milan at DCD next *Saturday* at 1pm.
