  • I also think the Huron league is weak. Only reason Milan and Cc do so well is their is no one else in the league worth watching. Jefferson used to be a power but no more. Flat Rock has been just that for years A Flat Rock. Airport used to be good. CC won the state, Wow in what division 17 or something. How far do they make it in the playoffs is always a different story. New Boston was a 1 year wonder then what happened back to old self. Keep on dreaming you Huron league super bowl wannabes!

  • I can only wonder if JBG is a troll from another part of the state, a fan from another community whose team has struggled the last few years (Airport? Jefferson?), or a former player who played during what they consider the "Golden Age" of the Huron League, whenever that happened to be. I understand Uncle Rico could throw a ball over a mountain, but he doesn't play anymore.

I was utterly dejected after Milan lost to SMCC last year, but I didn't realize then that they had just lost to a State Champion team. I still didn't like what I saw from my team in that game, but SMCC's run helped put things in perspective for me. Tough to call it a down year for the league last year when the HL produced two Regional Champions and a State Champ.

  • Haha. Johnny B Good you're an idiot. Two years ago Milan beat the SEC White champ Ypsi Lincoln and Ypsi. Last year NB Huron went to the D-3 semifinals and SMCC beats Ithica in the State Finals to knock of the nations longest winning streak beating Luman Christi on the way. SMCC also beat Tecumseh by 40 this year where I believe the best team in the SEC white Chelsea was barely up 7-0 at halftime on Tecumseh last week. Has anyone from the SEC white ever won a Reginal Championship? Nope..... Using the white as an example because they have schools of similar size.

  • Don't know why this should be the game of the week, the Huron league is not at all what it used to be. This league is weak the last couple years

  • Chris could type with his elbows and be more coherent. They're aren't off to a good start...

"Ann Arbor News: It was a tight two-way race, with the Huron League showdown between Monroe St. Mary Catholic Central and Milan taking over the top spot in the final hours with 5,589 votes. It won by 75 votes out of a turnout of 11,651. The Chelsea at Ypsilanti matchup came in second with 5,814 votes."

My only hope is that the MLive write up will not involve math. Sheesh!

NOW ITS UP FOR A STATEWIDE POLL...

  • Outstanding job you guys!! The SMCC/Milan game won game of the week! The power of the Huron League!
I posted a picture on the facebook page of the results if interested...
I tip my hat to you all, Thank You very much!
