Owosso @ Jefferson

Owosso (0-8) is coming off of a 43-8 loss to Notre Dame Prep while Jefferson (2-6) fell at home to rival SMCC 49-7. These two teams have never met.

The Trojans have only won 2 games since qualifying for the playoff in 2012. The Owosso offense is led by junior QB Nate Nicevski. Both lines are anchored by senior lineman Dylan Stanfield.

A Jefferson win would give the Bears their best record since the 2011 season. The Bears will look to pound the ball against a Trojan defense that is giving up 45 ppg.

This looks like a win for the Bears on paper, but Owosso is basically an unknown. Pick: Jefferson 27 Owosso 21

    • Pickens is the best coach I've ever had. for the past 3 years it's been 6 players that actually wanna change the program and get better, the rest are just there to wear the jersey.

    • Amen let's get some coach that can.get these kids to perform to their best...Jefferson won't because its a good boy network..

  • one day we might find a kid or better yet a group of kids that will point the finger at them selves and say, I GOT THIS !!!!! THIS IS OUR TEAM NOT THE COACHES TEAM, WE WILL DO THIS BY OURSELVES. untill that happens the bull shit that u see on the field will stay the bull shit that u go and complane about. yes the coaches need to ask for more and stop being friends and start being coaches. i rather respect my coach then be his friend. ive been around for along time and seen both sides as a parents and as a coach. TO ALL PARENTS, STOP HOLDING YOUR SONS HAND AND START PUSHING HIM TO COMPETE TO PLAY NOT TO JUST PUT ON A JERSEY!! to all players, when will u stand up and take over the team. and i dont mean a captian, i mean when u walk into a room everyone in the room knows who is in charge or better yet when u walk on to a field everyone in the stands (bothside) KNOWS WHO YOU ARE.

  • STILL GET CHILLS REMEMBERING THOSE TEAMS MARCH OUT TO THE FIELD LIKE SOLDIERS !!
    VERY INTIMIDATING !!

  • Don't change the Offense or the Defense. Set the bar, make some serious team rules at the beginning of next season.

Miss Practice- You don't start next game.
Personal foul- sit rest of the game. Doesn't matter who it is.
Offsides- Sit next play, severe team punishment at next practice.
Fumble- Sit next play- severe team punishment next practice.

Just a few ideas. I could go on and on.
Give out new disciplinary rules at BFS at the beginning of next summer. No surprises. Kids/parents don't like it, don't play.

All levels 7th grade through Varsity.

LETS BRING THE 90'S POWERHOUSE TEAMS BACK !!!!!

STILL GET CHILLS REMEMBERING THOSE TEAMS MARCH OUT TO THE FIELD LIKE SOLDIERS !!
    VERY INTIMIDATING !!

    BEAR DOWN, BEAT OWOSSO.

  • Go Bears..Agree they need disiplin.Hope to see this program make progress each yr.Thought the season was going to be a bit better.Work hard Bears & keep your heads up.

  • Lets go BEARS. Finish Strong. Must work hard in off-season. Be ready for some discipline, whether from this coaching staff or a new one. Penalties and turnovers will NOT be tolerated. I watched every team this year and heard a lot of what went on, on the sidelines. Riverview and SMCC by far the most discipline teams and look where they are. Something to be said when a game begins to turn chippy and the coaches rally the troops, calms the team and tells them this will not be tolerated. Which 2 schools you think did that also.

Good Luck Bears. Better times ahead.

    Bears 28- Owosso 13.

  • It's a slow burn, but the Bears are slowly rebuilding. It might take a few more years, but it's going to happen. The coaches and community are too good of people not to turn this thing around eventually... Glimpses of success more this year more than the last few... The Bears are like Coach Boone said,"It's like novocaine. Just give it time, always works." Bear Nation's former players and alumni spread out all over the country are in your corner. Finish strong.
(And this blog is appreciated... helps us keep up on the Huron League and our alma maters from afar. Thanks, Chris.)
