• I can assure you the Milan players and coaches don't think like that. They are all business. Understand that the people on this blog are former players and fans and a lot of the time idiots with an axe to grind that just try to start drama. Milan has a good staff that prepare as well as most in this state. That is a credit to Coach Hoskins. He is a great young football coach that will continue to put his players in the best positions to succeed on the field and more importantly off the field and anyone with any sense knows that this is most important.

• Maybe the best athlete, but def not the best player. The best player ran for 255 on 12 carries and 4 touchdowns. Only averaged 21 yds a carry lol

• Milan sounds like they have the game won already and haven't even laced up the spikes yet. I hope Chavez takes it to the so called Big Reds and teaches them to play and then talk big GO CHAVEZ

    We fans of Milan know good football. We play in a league that has pride and toughness throughout each team. Sure we like to trash talk, that's what the blog is for. Good luck to your Chavez team, I hope you bring it, see ya at 7 Friday night.

• What joke a2 never took advantage of the single coverage on Marcus E from Huron who clearly was the best athlete on the field. This is no challenge.

  • He is good, but it takes 11 to win, not just 1. 14 points scored by A2, 40 by Milan. Lindeman had over 240 yards rushing. Barnes had over 120, I think those 2 might have a case of stating they were the best on the field that night.

• While I fully expect Milan to score at will on Friday, I will be interested to see how Milan plans to defend Chavez's five WR passing attack. Chavez's fortunes seem to rest totally with their offense, and they either dominate or are dominated. I wasn't able to find many game recaps online for Chavez, and those I found just spit out stats--whether good or bad--without explaining what led to those stats. For example, did Chavez's QB Omar Salih throw four INTs against Ida because Salih's accuracy was off or did the Blue Streaks DBs jump pass routes?

  I suspect that the defenses for Ida and DCD were immensely better overall in their athleticism and preparedness than the others Chavez has faced, but I'm not certain what areas were key to those contests.

  For Milan, I think they are up to this unique challenge and I believe that the key for Milan defensively is their pass rush. If Milan can hurry Salih and get him to hear footsteps, he'll get rid of the ball before his receivers can break open deep. Milan can then keep the Chavez receivers in front of them and force them to make long sustained drives.

  I think that Milan playing A2 Huron last week helped, as they had to prep for a team who moved the ball best through the air. Without even the hint of a running game (and we'll see if the QB scramble is a weapon that Salih brings to the table), Milan can focus on coverage and mixing in the blitz this week. Grey and Moore have to be licking their chops at the chance to tee off on a QB tomorrow night. Sustained pressure can really destroy an opponent's passing game.

• Yea this team seem pretty weak after seeing their schedule Milan wins so easily I stay home on this one.
