Jefferson @ Grosse Ile

Both teams are coming off of week one losses. Jefferson fell to Ida 33-7 while Grosse Ile lost to Parma Western 27-21. Gross Ile won last season’s game 49-7 and have won four in a row in the series which Jefferson leads 25-23 overall.

A young Red Devil team played well against a Parma Western team that is considered to be the schools best in 30 years. Junior Justin Moores showed he is another good Grosse Ile QB in the making while RB Andrew Vollmerhausen is as rugged as they come. Josh Moskall and Time Beach lead an active defense that is sure to get better as the season progresses.

Jefferson was disappointing in the opener against Ida. The Bears have gone back to a running based offense, but the passing game appeared a bit more potent in the opener.  Expect the Bears to try and establish the run and out physical the younger Islanders.

A win here for either team is needed at this point and could possibly launch someone to a solid season. A loss for either could mean a long season with wins getting harder to come by. Pick: Grosse Ile 27 Jefferson 14

    • well if we beat you and that's our last win by that logic you are still worse than us. Have fun at the bottom with flat rock. Cheers

  • Smcc had some monsters especially at the dt's. # 81 really??? # 71 were beast. No one could move them off the ball

  • Size has nothing to do with it speed kills. Gross ile is going to roll through the Bears. This game won't be close.

  • my comment about small was said about the Running back Position if looked at. when a back gets in the open field and is @ those lineman weights and you have 140-150 pound D.B's it makes it a tall task. get tired of it all you want its just a fact. All those D.B's have heart just a lot to ask was my point

  • Not sure anyone said smcc was small last year lol. They had a few monsters. Not a GI fan, but they will win by 4tds

  • Blow out by Devils. Comments about being to small are getting old. There was another team on here last year that was told every week they were to small and all they did was win a state championship. I'll take heart over weight any day. Don't back down Bears!
