Such a humble kid. For being the second best RB in the state he wasn't cocky by any means. MSU definitely got a great athlete in him.

Absolutely an insane individual performance. I kinda felt bad for him. Yes he was on a great team with a good coach and line, but that's tough on the kid. Sundays may be a stretch, but I think Saturdays is a safe bet. The kid had great vision, size, and speed. Special player.

That mlive article annoyed me as well. If you listened to the commentator on mhsaa.tv, it was so biased I had to mute it for a while.
Other things
That 4th and 7 play by Windham in the fourth is probably the most exciting play from SMCC I've seen... right up there with the run by Simon against Bishop Foley in 2008 to win a Regional Title.
That fumble at the end of the game was Khari Willis' first lost turnover in his career. To rush the ball that many times and never fumble to the other team is INSANE. Feel bad that the last carry of the kid's career was his first fumble...and of that magnitude. Gotta feel for him.
I heard Howey might be back for SMCC next week.

I wonder if this dork showed up to see our "look of depression"?
GO FALCONS!!
I read the MLive articles about this game today and was disappointed to read that an unknown source said there was an illegal man downfield penalty that wasn't called on the 4th and 7 broken play that resulted in CC's final touchdown. I wonder if they saw the pass interference that wasn't called against JLC along with all of the questionable ball placements that resulted in many 1st downs for the Titans? Anyway, probably the most exciting football game this year, if not ever.
421 yards on 51 carries we witnessed the greatest individual effort in decades. If this kid stays healthy we will see him playing on Sunday's. However no individual can beat a team effort. This CC team is reminiscent of the 1991 team that won the class B title. No super stars but a great team that went through injuries and still got the job done.
Not only was Willis a monster on the field, he was a class act to watch and then hear from after the game. Congrats to him, his parents, family and coaches... looking forward to his success at MSU.
Those lineman for JLC were creating some nice lanes. They have a heck of a team too. I agree, I cant believe we didn't see one reverse and only saw one bootleg from the QB(who was a great athlete). With everyone in the stadium keying on willis, I figure those plays would be big gainers. but never saw them
Have to agree with you 12:16pm. JLC came in with a TON of weapons that could hurt SMCC. It just seemed that SMCC had an answer for the rest, and the only way they could gain yards consistently was with their monster of a RB. I'm going to put a more in-depth analysis of the game a little later.
Here's the highlight of the game. A 4th and 7 late in the fourth where Bryce Windham somehow finds a way to throw the ball downfield on a broken play. Absolutely crazy...couldn't believe it when I saw it. Hope the link works for everybody. If not let me know.
Khari Willis IS a man amongst boys! He is everything they said he would be and more! Looks like MSU is freakin' reloading for next year. That being said, I have to rip on JLC's coach a little. I think that asking ONE 17 or 18 year old kid, albeit a very talented one, to carry 99% of the offensive load, is a bit much. I know you use your big guns, in this case, gun, if you want to win, but c'mon coach, you need to have at least 10 other plays to give this kid a rest once in a while. I know it doesn't matter now, but it's a lot to ask physically and mentally of a kid that young. All of us SMCC fans knew who was getting the ball on almost every play. It was still hard to stop him. But at the end of the game, when they HAD to throw, there was NO ONE who could step up and help out for JLC. Truly, one man does not make a team. That's what the Falcons have. A TEAM.
What a great TEAM effort to bring home the W! Congratulations SMCC!
Great win SMCC, in JLC's house at that. keep it up Huron League.
