Huron League Thoughts and Questions

Congrats to SMCC on winning the State Championship.

Congrats to Jack Giarmo and his coaching staff on winning the State Championship.

Game MVP? I thought Mitchell Lamour was. Stats don’t tell the whole story.

I thought SMCC’s speed on defense was the difference.

Ithaca travels well.

That was Windham’s 10th interception of the year.

I’m sure SMCC liked having David Howey out there on defense.

Why doesn’t SMCC throw to the TE Woolford? Really doesn’t matter I guess.

Public vs Private, who cares?

That was Ithaca’s lowest scoring output in 87 games.

I didn’t think those officials had the best game.

Did any team in the Huron League have as many injuries as SMCC this season?

Does Giarmo ponder retirement or get back to it December 1st?

Next year’s Division 6 State Final prediction, Ithaca over SMCC.

Congrats to Huron’s Dan Kalbfleisch on being picked Division 3/4 AP Coach of the Year.

Has Flat Rock hired anyone yet?

2015 Early season Huron League Champ prediction, Milan.

Huron All League teams come out sometime this week.

I was 10-0 in playoff picks.

  • Better yet, 8:12. Why don't your team leave the HL, and join a conference full of 10 to 12 year olds. You MIGHT be able to compete. I doubt it, though. You'd definitely find something unfair about that conference as well. "Your team's kids don't all live on the same street." "That kid has a better pair of cleats than my kid." "The weather was too cold to play outside." BOO HOO! Dork.

  • How about this Mr. 8:12? SMCC becomes an Independent, like ND in college, and they'd still whip your schools' butt any day of the year. All your crying does is prove to the rest of the area is that YOUR team isn't very good, and NEVER will be any good. You could have a conference with every team having the same enrollment, the same facilities, the same equipment, the same transportation, and have kids the exact same sizes across the board, and YOUR team would still LOSE. You would be ecstatic though. You'd have PLENTY to complain about. Let me know when this dream world YOU live in becomes reality. Take my tax dollars that my kid doesn't use, and go get your team a few extra practice lessons.

  • Listen folks, there will always be idiots like this guy who cry unfair. If SMCC stunk at football, would he still say things were unfair? Why is it unfair? Because they beat your team right? Ask yourself the question. If SMCC stunk it up every year, would I still cry unfair? If the answer is no(which of course it would be) then you are just crying about your team losing. It's called sour grapes.

  • Can't beat SMCC with their four 180lb lineman. Not sure what to tell you bud. I think they are just better coached.

  • I will be coaching Mr 3:09. and it will be in a fair league where there are no private schools.

Bring in Trenton or Ida. Definitely help the league. SMCC got to go.

    Even got a name SECC.
    South East Catholic Conference.
    sound good to me.

  • Listen Folks,
School of choice is nothing compared to having is whole wide open area to attract kids. School of choice attracts a few, not anywhere near the majority. I could list 10 different towns the SMCC kids are from. The biggest thing is not that the kids are from outside of any possible district that SMCC could claim, these kids were potential athletes at their local school (where their parents pay taxes by the way) and now that local public school has lost them and SMCC has gained them. That is a very poor system to me and that is exactly why private schools dominate.

10:21 your stats are based on championships. whatever? SMCC is at the top of the league almost every single year, all other schools cycle. SMCC has no cycle, because on a down year they are able to always pick up a few. Lets see how basketball turns out. Lost some great ones last year, as of the end of last season, nobody was coming in with any real height, I bet big money we will see a couple kids well over 6ft when SMCC takes the court this year.

    Always an *** Asterisk
